After beating chapter 5 fully for the first time, I think the whole "Asgore was vague posting," critique is overexaggerated.

I personally don't need a huge exposition dump on what happened. Knowing that the reason for the divorce was actually due to Asgore's obsession is a pretty big revelation in of itself that makes a lot more sense when you consider Toriel's character.

Toriel in undertale also never blamed asgore for the loss of Asriel and Chara, and the real reason she left was because Asgore went crazy and declared war which disgusted her.

Just as the obsession with "proving" what happened likely made her feel as if she couldn't be with her husband anymore.

Really I think all that needed to be mentioned was dess' name as it's kind of obvious at this point why the "horrible day" was so infamous.

Other than that though I think my only other criticism in regards to Asgore is that his development offscreen is kind of lazy and rushed.

I love this 'Ralsei being a tree/root system under the hometown' theory. It does make sense a lot to me especially how he "teleported' between Dark Worlds and such.
