Something ‘bout You (Drabble)
“He’s trouble. Stay away.”
You looked at the two boys across the street; eyes specifically gazing upon the guy wearing a leather jacket and black beanie over his head. He was tall, broad, and though a mask was covering half of his face, you had no doubt he was also handsome.
Unless he had a nose of a monkey or something, you thought amusedly.
Not to mention he was really nice when you bumped into him this morning. You just exited the school’s office with your schedule in hand and a couple of textbooks when you accidentally collided into him, causing your books to fall to the ground. The hallway was already empty as classes have already begun, which only emphasized the sound of your books falling even more.
A tall boy in a black mask stared at you blankly for a few seconds before glancing down at your books. Before you could stop him, he had crouched down and retrieved them for you.
“Sorry. Thanks…” You muttered as he handed you back the books. The guy merely shrugged and you found yourself looking into his eyes.
They were doe-eyes—trusting.
You opened your mouth to speak but he suddenly pointed at the paper in your hand.
“Lost?” He asked and you sighed in relief as someone in this school was finally taking the initiative to help.
“A little. Can you tell me where room… 203 is?”
The boy blinked once before turning and pointing towards a set of double doors. “That’s on the other building. Just go through there then make a left. You won’t miss the building’s doors. 203 is the second door in the hall once you enter.”
To your relief, the directions were easy enough to follow and remember. “Thank you.”
The boy simply nodded before waking past you in a rush. You turned as well and headed for the door. But then realized that you didn’t get his name.
“Hey—” You turned again but to your confusion, the hall was already empty. A disappointed frown made its way to your lips upon the realization that you would never know his name…
Unless you see each other again.
The gods must’ve heard your pleas because there he was right after school, walking casually across the street. And you wanted nothing more but to come up to him and thank him again for being so helpful….
But you were afraid it might come out as somewhere between: “You have beautiful eyes.” and “I want to be your girlfriend.”
“Oh no. No, Y/N. Stop the smile right now.”
“What?” You asked Kara, your friend, as you tried to wipe off the smile that’s already playing across your lips. Kara and you had met in homeroom and immediately clicked. It was one of those kindergarten moments when you suddenly feel like you’ve known the other person your whole life even though you practically just met.
“Oh come on,” You said as she gave you the look. You tried to sound casual even though the mere sight of him was causing your heart to race. “How bad are they? They seem nice—”
“Oh sure they look nice.” Kara snorted. “Very nice, I might add. But trust me, you don’t want to get into that. They’re trouble. Bad sh*t, I tell you.”
Kara sighed, looking defeated as she knows you wouldn’t stop asking if she didn’t answer your question.
“Okay. The one in red? That’s Park Jimin. Super rich, heir to a multinational company. Keep out of reach if you don’t want to get your heart broken.”
You chuckled at the warning. “Why? Is he the bad boy type? The typical rebel, motorcycle-riding, ‘no-strings-attached’ kind of guy?”
Kara snorted once again. “No. Jimin actual rides a Lamborghini to school, is actually very nice and polite. And as if that wasn’t enough… he and A’s are like peanut butter and jelly!” She exclaimed. “And that’s even worse! He’s too perfect!” She cried while looking at Jimin almost longingly.
You nodded, seeing that the guy—Jimin—was really cute too, with small eyes and a bright smile. He laughed at something beanie guy said and you could practically hear Kara’s sigh of adoration beside you.
“See? Even his laugh is angelic.”
“What’s his story?” You motioned your head towards beanie guy—the one you met this morning. (And the one you were only ever interested in to be quite honest.)
Kara actually scoffed which made you even more curious. “That one is the epitome of whatever you described just a while ago.” She said a matter of fact. “Jeon Jungkook. Yes, of the JEON Enterprises. I’m sure you’ve heard of them.”
Your eyes widened slightly, knowing JEON enterprises was the biggest and most well-known companies in Korea with key businesses that ranged across leisure, finance, legal, and property.
“Resident rebel kid, rides a motorcycle, a hella rude—” Kara emphasized which surprised you. “And rumour has it he’s part of a gang and brings home a different girl every night—”
“Okay, that sounds like an exaggeration. And completely off a manga.”
“Well if you’ve seen him shirtless I don’t think you’d be doubting me right now.”
You blushed slightly at her statement, unable to handle that image in your head right now. “ But Jungkook…“
"You mean the spawn of the devil Jungkook.” Kara corrected. “One time, we were at the library and we needed a desk to study in. He was sitting at one of the big tables and we asked to share…and you know what he did?” She asked, scoffing. “He freakin’ placed his feet on the table like some king he thinks he is and continued reading. Talk about rude!”
You frowned at Kara’s story—and undulated hatred towards Jungkook. You were a little confused considering he was the same guy who was kind enough to show you directions and retrieve your books when they fell.
You looked across the street once again and was surprised to see Jungkook looking over your way. You weren’t sure if he was looking at you exactly (you didn’t want to assume…) and before you could confirm, he was already turning away and riding his motorcycle. A big, black and sexy bike which he rode through the street at the speed of light; tires screeching against the asphalt.
Right then, you knew one thing was certain:
You were already hooked. There was something about him and you wanted to know more. And you feared the warning has only increased your fascination over the boy in the black mask even more.
Hell, you wanted to get on that damn bike and ride the night away with him.
The mere thought made you shiver. It was too reckless of a thought for someone like you…
You nodded. Though deep down, you were quite the opposite.
