It's Thanksgiving, so it's gravy time!! Aside from being delicious, gravy is sentimental to me. For the last 50+ years in the Springston Home, Thanksgiving gravy has been cooked by the three corner cupboard, on a small table, in a fry pan. I learned right in this spot from my grandma, Saint Florence, how to stir just right, and how to measure the goblet juice, and the right annoying of salt (all trade secrets). Florence or Gram as she was known made better gravy one handed than I'll ever make, even with a team of helpers, she was the undisputed gravy master. Every year, I have to follow traditions; wear gingham, use the same spoon, the same frypan, and wear Cookie Grandmas apron. Somehow we always manage to take almost the exact same picture too! It reminds of of the past, makes memories for the future, and makes darn good gravy.
