second, let me address a disturbing trend that i’ve been seeing. some people seem keen on destroying the active members of monsta x in wonho’s name. others have decided that mx was stringing us along in all of this. and still others have somehow thought to blame wonho in this situation. all of these thoughts are appalling. all seven members of monsta x have been victimized by this situation. none of the seven members of monsta x are at fault. they’ve given us their hearts, bebes. don’t throw that away.
an open heart. changkyun does not often hide his emotions. he sent us a song about loving someone. he held our hands at fansigns and gave us smiles despite everything. but he’s still laid some of his emotions bare for us. while still being as professional as he possibly can, you can see the exhaustion on his face. his smiles aren’t the same. he’s given way to tears on stage. his pain is obvious, bebes. it’s obvious because he’s given us his heart.
a vigorous heart. jooheon is strong. he mc’d with minhyuk almost immediately after they lost their brother. he’s been speaking for his members, taking on some burden so that others can recover. he’s been comforting us, shining bright for us as he always does. but we still saw him crying in the van. we still saw his face during follow’s first win. jooheon stays strong for us. he stays strong for us because he’s given us his heart.
a tender heart. hyungwon is incredibly kind. he’s been cheering his members up. he’s been cheering us up. he’s sent us letters and called to us from the van and danced and sang for us while all of this was going on. but he still trembled. i keep saying this. he still trembled. hyungwon is almost impossibly gentle. because he’s given us his heart.
an unwavering heart. kihyun is a flame that does not flicker. he’s still posting selfies. he’s still laughing. he took on burden with jooheon and hyungwon so that his other members could rest. he’s written us letters. he’s kept up his professionalism. but even through it all, he’s acting. his flame is fueled by anger; we saw it in the first few days of promotions. but he still stays resolute, for us. because he’s given us his heart.
an honest heart. minhyuk has always been one to speak his mind. he told us about some of his feelings in his letter to us on fancafe, both negative and positive. he told us about his hopes for a bright future. but it’s more than that. he broke down after we lost hoseok. he avoided the camera. he teared up. these are all common themes. his pain is something we can see, because he’s honest with us. because he’s given us his heart.
a selfless heart. hoseok left for his members. hoseok did not leave for himself. hoseok does not do things out of selfishness. he’s said before that it doesn’t matter if he’s in pain so long as his monbebes are doing well. he wanted to stay with his members forever. the only reason he would have left is because he thought it was best for his brothers. and because he thought it was better for us. he’s wrong, he’s so wrong, but his heart is so good. and he’s given it to us.
a revealed heart. hyunwoo has always been rather private. with his feelings especially. he doesn’t reveal his struggles to us often, and if we ask him what he wants to hear during a hard time, he says he’s working through it himself. even with his members, he never complains, and never falters. even in his darkest moments, he retreated into himself and showed as little as he could. and yet, he told us that we became his strength. he relied on us. he’s grateful to us. we gave strength to one of the strongest men i’ve ever seen. because he’s given us his heart.
your negative feelings are valid. your frustration is valid. you’re allowed to do what you need to do to stay happy and healthy. but if you’re staying, if you’re coming back to fight, remember that we are fighting for seven. seven men. seven hearts. none more important than the other. for gifts as precious as these, i’m willing to fight forever.
