Ambessa’s   eyebrow   arched   as  @essencefluxed   turned   to   slink   away,   muttering   some   flimsy   excuse   about   being   a   “busy   guy.”   She   let   him   get   exactly   two   steps   before   her   hand   shot   out,   seizing   him   by   the   scruff   of   his   shirt   and   lifting   him   effortlessly   off   the   ground,   his   legs   dangling   like   a   misbehaving   cat’s.   She   smirked,   eyes   glinting   with   a   blend   of   amusement   and   mild   exasperation   as   she   looked   him   over.   

“Oh,   no,   no,   no,   busy   guy,”   she   drawled,   giving   him   a   slight   shake   that   tousled   his   carefully   styled   hair.   

“Since   when   does   the   great   adventurer,   turn   tail   and   run   from   a   little   old   lady?”   Her   grin   widened   as   she   held   him   there,   watching   his   feigned   casualness   turn   into   a   sheepish   grimace.   “So   tell   me,”   she   continued,   voice   laced   with   mocking   sweetness,   “what’s   so   urgent   that   you’d   risk   insulting   me   by   running   off?   Or   did   you   just   remember   some   ancient   treasure   in   need   of   liberation?”   She   chuckled,   raising   an   eyebrow.   “You’d   better   make   this   good,   boy,   or   I   might   start   to   think   you’re   afraid   of   me.”
