When the mind spins Full of thoughts, full of fears Breathe Break large tasks into small Then step forward Bit by bit, step by step Breathe Things to do can be as tides, overwhelming with the waves Take it in droplets, at your own pace >
((Welcome back anoneko and kitymun! Glad to see you around again. Hope you both are doing well!))
[ The grey kitty waves enthusiastically, before offering both a hug and her notebook ]
< It was touch and go for a bit, and many things have changed - mostly for the better. This kitty’s mun is still adapting while learning how to ‘adult human’, but is doing well. This kitty’s overslept, but is well rested and breathing is easier for both of us.
This kitty's mun adores your new icon! (She might also just want to give Ayla all the pets. Or hugs.) >
> Heart
Take care of the heart, Be kind to it, especially if it is your own, Some days The heart can ache - hug it The heart can fly - soar high The heart can weep - comfort it Feeling flows from the heart All feelings valid Be mindful of each feeling And take care <3
Wind whistles, through the trees and grass, guiding droplets down leaves and petals to fall into the puddles below. In the field, grey fur stirs, mouth opening wide to give a voiceless yawn.
Breathe. In, and out.
The nekomata can feel the wind in her fur, ruffling her new clothing, and she can feel the warmth of the light on her. Moving slowly, she stretched; slow, deliberate movements of each arm, and each leg.
In, and out. Relax, and breathe. Feel the weight in each limb, feel the presence of body, and draw each breath to the center.
Picking up her notebook, she brought her pen to the page.
< Time to wake up. This kitty overslept. Too bad every alarm clock is silent to this kitty. >
With a silent giggle, she closed her notebook. Time to clean and prepare the house.
Well, I'll just offer hugs to the grey kit and her writer then! Hope your situation improves, friend.
< This kitty hopes so as well, and thanks you for the hug. This kitty has a pretty good sense of scent, so this kitty has a strong suspicion of who this mun is. >
:3
The grey nekomata returns the gentle hug to the veiled mun, before writing again.
< Please take care. Although this kitty cannot know what goes on, on the other side of the screen, this kitty hopes whatever troubles there may be, that they are not overwhelming. If they ever become much, remember that all may be a guest at the house in between spaces; even if time will not stop for a mun, please feel free to use it if it helps to visit in your mind’s eye, a safe space to breathe and have some tea, or another beverage of choice. >
< This kitty apologizes for absence. This kitty’s writer is not doing very well, but is trying to avoid a leak of negativity on to this kitty’s space.
This kitty offers virtual hugs or an equal caring gesture. Please remember to take care. >
????
“Why can’t you talk? Where does greyfaces come from? Was losing your anonimity affected you in some way? Do you have some crazy powers that can affect people around you like other anons? Like you know, changing their species or behaviour. Are you not afraid of us? Of Bel? You tried to hug them once.”
The kitty tilted her head to the side, a hand scratching at her cheek. That was a lot of questions. She held up a finger, a ‘one moment please’ gesture, before she began to write.
< This kitty can’t know of all of them, but perhaps it’d be easiest to think of greys as wills without form, visitors from another place. They can wield power of change, but this kitty cannot do anything like that. All this kitty has is the ability to travel, slip between spaces, through walls, and whatever this kitty may be able to do with writing. >
< This kitty hasn’t been afraid of things for a while now. Things that used to frighten no longer truly do. So this kitty is free to offer hugs. >
The kitty gave a warm smile, before pausing, taking a moment to think of how best to explain before writing again.
< This kitty cannot cause sounds because this kitty is both tangible and intangible. Although this kitty can be able to touch, this kitty is unable to cause sounds directly. Pawsteps, talking, writing - all silent. But if this kitty were to, for example, drop this notebook, the notebook falling would be heard. >

Gentle with others
And gentle with yourself

Bell Toll for a Mirage
As the kitty wandered the mists, in that place in between, her ears and nose twitched as she could feel a presence. She held her staff up, the bell on top of it swinging with the motion, before she brought it back, causing the ring to echo into the mists. Although she waited, nothing seemed to happen, so she rung the bell a second time.
-look at me!
Ano let go of the bell and dropped to the ground, just before the staff was cleaved by shards of glass, a blade swung fiercely through the mists.
“Please calm down! You’re not there!” Ano called.
There was a crinkling sound, one moving closer to the grey nekomata. She didn’t flinch.
“It’s Ano,” Ano carefully stood up, holding her hands outward in what she hoped was a calming gesture, “You’re here.”
The crinkling sound vanished as Ano saw a shape emerging from the mist, another grey nekomata, the newcomer’s shoulders heaving as she took unsteady breaths. Ano gave the newcomer a gentle smile, “It’s okay. You’re okay. Come here, the guest house is open.”
Am I unconscious?
“Probably, this kitty doesn’t know for sure,” Ano took the newcomer’s arm, helping to steady her as she brought her into the house.
I think I’d prefer dead.
Ano winced, “Here, the kettle’s still warm, this kitty knows you prefer warm, not very hot tea. Just sit down.”
The other nekomata’s hand shook as she sat down and took the kettle, giving Ano a moment to find a blanket and drape it over the other nekomata’s shoulders.
Thank you, Ano.
Ano sat down beside the other nekomata, “You don’t have to take this kitty’s shape, it’s safe here.”
I know, but my body is broken. I can’t bear to show it. Not even to you.
“You mean your wings, Mirror?” Ano asked, gently placing a paw on the other nekomata’s back. The other nekomata shook her head.
More than those now. The cracks keep spreading. I’m whole when I take the form of another, but even then, there are cracks.
“You’re pushing yourself too hard, Mirror,” Ano said gently, “And in holding others’ forms, you neglect your own.”
At this point, what is my own anyway? I’m broken, it’s only a matter of time before the court casts me aside, or I fall apart.
“That is their choice, and their loss,” Ano replied, “You know that. You’ve made that decision before. There will be another you can be part of, or you’ll make your own,” She gave a smile, “You’re a mirror sprite; if anything can adapt to change, it’s you.”
Maybe, but I think you’re giving me too much credit. I’m much older than I am, and very tired. I can’t hold shapes like I used to.
Ano’s smile faltered and she nodded slowly, “This kitty knows. This kitty hopes that you won’t have to. After all, that’s what you want, isn’t it? To not need other shapes, but to enjoy your own.”
It’ll be a long time before that happens, if it happens.
Ano wrapped her arms around the other nekomata, “You’ve survived this long on the emotions and shapes of others. Give yourself a chance. Before you ask others to look at you, you should try to be okay with looking at yourself.”
Who do you think I was talking to? Mirror sprites can’t see theirselves, Ano. At least, not easily.
Ano gave a weak chuckle, “So that was a dream? This kitty was wondering. You’re normally not aggressive like that. It caught this kitty off guard.”
Did I break the bell? I know I hit something.
Ano shook her head, holding her staff for the other nekomata to see, “Don’t worry, you did not.”
Thank goodness for small favours... I feel exhausted.
Ano nodded, carefully guiding the other nekomata to a bed, “Rest then, you’re safe here.”
Will I be able to stay for long?
“This kitty is afraid not,” Ano replied, “Only until you wake up. Still, this kitty hopes that you will be able to rest.”
But why you are willing for me to stay? You know what I am.
Ano nodded, “This kitty remembers. You’ve called yourself the Epitaph of the Mirage, but this kitty doesn’t think of you as deceiving with ill intent.”
But it’s still lying.
Ano scratched at her cheek, “If you take an absolute view, but absolutes are dangerous, and situations are all unique. Either way, this kitty knows one thing about you, Mirror: you give what you receive. So this kitty will give you kindness,” She gave the other nekomata a gentle hug, “Besides, this kitty wouldn’t do anything else. Just rest, this kitty knows you need it.”
Thank you.
@anonekomata I hope I didn’t messed up the kitty owo

// NYA?! Please excuse the kitty’s mun while she passes out from happiness. The kitty’s mun can’t even put into words how much she is amazed by this. She is not worthy.
The kitty earperks. It seems the grey kitty has been summoned. With twin tails flicking back and forth, she hops up to sit on the kitchen counter. Reaching into her pouch, she pulls out a box of lemongrass tea, apparently freshly picked up from a supermarket not in the Underground given the human brand, and holds it up for Azzy to inspect. There's one of those quick-stick-on ribbon bows attached to the top of the box.
He’d smile, gently, reaching over to pet both ears in turn. Scritch’a scritch.
“You’re always so thoughtful,” he muses. “This is my favorite. It’s no wonder I want you to stay here,” he said with a smile. “Left you a blanket in front of the fireplace in that spot you like. It’s one of a few that I have that Mom made. Make yourself at home~”
The kitty tilts her head and gives a smile, holding up one of her pre-made notecards, < Thank you >
Hopping off of the countertop, the small nekomata gave Azzy a gentle hug, before bounding over to the spot that he mentioned. The crackling of the fireplace a familiar sound, and her ears twitched as she listened to it. Pulling out her notebook, she began to silently write.
< This kitty looks after a guest house far away from here. It is not this kitty’s, but it seems to be unused, and sometimes this kitty will ring the bell for a guest to find it. So if this kitty is not here, this kitty is probably wandering, or this kitty might be taking care of a guest at that house. > She offers as an explanation.
With an apologetic smile she adds on to the page, < This kitty would invite you there too, but it’s far away, and that place is not for everyone. >
<
Twelve of twelve, maybe an end, or maybe not But here on this long journey, take the time to rest, As sunlight grows short up north, Bundle up for both cold and feeling, As season and time can take its toll Take care, and take each step at walking pace The journey of life is not a race
Please take care of yourself

Remember
Whether you walk together, or apart You share this place
This place here
The place outside
You share them all So make them nice places to be
Remember kindness Remember warmth And if kindness is given Return kindness too
Sometimes It just takes kindness to be given To allow others to be kind too

The kitty didn't know what she would be able to do to help directly, but she reaches into her bag to give Xate a fresh notebook and pen. It seemed like she might need it.
Well that…helps?
“…”
The girl quickly takes the notebook and the pen and writes down.
“That drink was poisoned, know anything that can help?”
The kitty fidgeted, pressing the tips of her forefingers together as her ears drooped. Poison? The kitty breathed, trying to remember. She didn’t know too much about poisons, except second hand from some of the guests she’s met.
<If poison got in, then poison has to be taken out, right?> The kitty wrote slowly, <Symptoms? Know you don’t look well, but anything specific?>
The kitty is laying on the ground, unmoving, until she takes a deep breath.
She looks down at the words she has written, and pauses, before holding them up, letting them fly away in the wind.
< This kitty sees stars being given, but this kitty won’t give any stars.
Because this kitty believes that you are a star.
Even if you cannot see the light that you give, know that others can, the ones that believe in you.
So shine, in that way that you do.
This kitty believes in you. >
< ‘Strong’ It’s okay to not be strong No one is, all the time You are no less for it
Some don’t like to show it When their ‘strength’ falters But that is their choice Whether you do or not is yours
When strength falters When you feel alone Words may not be enough But that is all this kitty has
Even so, this kitty will write Rest when you need to Give yourself time Time to
