Hey, you are not an embarrassment for not knowing how to do certain household chores/basic self-care. They do not come naturally to us. A lot of it takes practice! Maybe you had a neglectful guardian. Maybe you had one that was very coddling and never thought to teach you. Maybe you haven't lived in a place where these things were available to you or needed. Doesn't matter. It's okay to not know and far more common than you might realise.
That said, this website provides very simple instructions on how to do everyday tasks such as making your bed, using a washing machine, cooking different foods, washing dishes, taking a shower, etc. All you have to do is use the search bar to find the task you're struggling with, and it'll come up with what you need + other related how-to's:)
If you're having trouble navigating it, let me provide you with some examples:
How to clean dishes by hand
How to make your bed (with visual demonstrations of each step!)
How to fold clothes (with visual demonstrations of each step!)
How to take a shower & dry yourself off (also provides ways to shave beards, armpits, legs and genitals)
How to shave legs, armpits, beards, pubic areas, etc. (a more in-depth guide)
How to mop the floor
How to sweep the floor
How to swallow pills
How to make small talk
How to make eye contact in different situations (or how to avoid it while still looking natural)
It's also perfectly okay if these don't help or aren't appealing to you. Unfortunately, nothing helps everyone.
Also if the reason you don't know is developmental , intelectual or learning disabilities making you struggle even if you've been taught a bunch of times , you are so cool and awesome too :^) [smiley face ]
This shit really isnt intuitive at all unfortunately
I myself have been homeless. Car camped. I can share a few things that can make that time easier.
This is a good good list that unfortunately a lot of people need right now.
Good tips. I can vouch for many of these. Here are a couple more that have worked for me (U.S.-based): - Get on food stamps before you are actually homeless, if you can. Itâs just less complicated that way, but I have also had good luck just being very straightforward with DHS about my situation. - The article talks about not paying for storage â I really think your mileage may vary on that one. I paid for a cheap storage unit that I split with my sister for a couple years. If you really do have things of value that you want to keep, I say do it if you can find a cheap unit. ALSO, I have low-key stayed in my storage unit. You canât do it for long, and depending on the place, it can be sketchy, but it can be done. - National parks and Forest Service campsites. Yeah there is definitely the whole day-use only thing but there are some that arenât monitored. They often have bathrooms, and for me, it sometimes felt way safer being away from people. - Hook up with your local Food Not Bombs. Itâs usually really good food and run by folks who are used to working outside the system. You might be able to make friends and score a place to live or stay. - When I knew that I wasnât going to be able to afford rent for the foreseeable future, I bought myself a cheap travel trailer. 600 bucks and Iâve lived in it for almost five years now. Friends are way more likely to let you live indefinitely in their driveway or on their land than endlessly crashing on their couch. I do work-trade or pay what I can for utilities. If your car canât haul it (mine canât), rent a U-Haul truck for a day to get it where you need it to be. Obviously this requires some cash, but if you can swing it, it can really save your ass in the long run. - Make a plan for bad weather â heat waves and cold snaps can kill. Heat is worse for me where I live, so I make sure to have a list of spots I can escape to. This is where those national parks can sometimes come in handy, but also think about overpasses, city parks with lots of shade, abandoned buildings. Know where your local cooling/warming shelters are. Keep some money stashed away if you can to pay for cheap motel rooms during the worst weather. If you can split the cost of a room with friends, even better. - Have a few strategically stashed canisters of mace or pepper spray. - But at the same time, look out for each other. You donât have to become bosom buddies with everyone else on the street, but treating each other like humans is both good for your mental and emotional health and also youâll find that people are often really amazingly generous with their resources and knowledge.
Good advice. Storage is also one of those thing that a friend might be able to help you with. Cheap storage options are often damp or not as secure as youâd like. That might be a bad place to put your childhood photo albums, electronics, important paperwork, favorite dress, those expensive shoes you bought once⊠If a friend is willing to store a few boxes of stuff, at least you know those things are safe and dry.
etc.
recently came across some plates and bowls that would be perfect for a children's hospital

Blackout poetry exists on a dual axis from "banal" to "insightful" on the input side and "kind of deep" to "incredibly fucking dumb" on the output side, and while taking something banal and producing something kind of deep is well and fine, for my money taking something insightful and rendering it incredibly fucking dumb is where the real art is.
#i stuck the word 'banal' in there twice specifically so that 'anal' would be low hanging fruit#but i genuinely did not anticipate 'banana' --@prokopetz

I think âgamersâ donât deserve Early Access, tbh
Is early access an excuse to release an unfinished product sometimes? Yea, for sure
But like. Functionally it serves as a way for live experience testing to be done on a game. Itâs a way to dial it in on what people want, and on how to best make the game.
This means that, stars above, you donât need to fucking review bomb it the second thereâs a problem, you have avenues for giving feedback, stop saying the game is doomed because thereâs been one bad update ffs
This brought to you by the embarassing state of people talking about both Slay the Spire 2 and Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core
