So. After doing extensive rewatching for research for a fic. I've realized Rocky does not have as many tunnels in the ship as I thought.

He has a chamber in the dormitory. A chamber around the pilot seat (which is only built AFTER the Moment scene, because he was just strapped in his ball then) and the larger tunnel in between the Central Hub and the Analytical Capsule. No other place in the ship has tunnels. He uses his ball to get around.

Poor guy went from massive entire ship to himself to essentially a hamster ball habitat.

The very idea of an au with eridian grace that still follows the general plot of how he gets to space is so heartbreaking to me with the whole 'sleeping leaves you vulnerable to predators' thing.

Like, grace getting drugged and sent to space in a forced coma? Waking up to no one watching him and experiencing probably one of the biggest taboos in eridian culture? And adding on the years (if we follow Rocky's timeline of basically 50) he would be out there alone after being betrayed by people he thought he could trust.

Rocky you better take that little guy to Earth to live with you and Adrian. He better become the most spoiled alien in the universe like he basically does in canon.

I cannot ship grace with anyone because the thought of a non partnering aroace person living a long fantastic and fulfilling life that doesn't ever involve being romantically involved with anyone and being happy about that is so great and I hope my future is the same. aroace non partnering grace forever. with rocky and adrian and all his eridian friends and family

Project Hail Mary is funny if you think about the fact that it’s not an alien movie at first. It’s an astronauts saving the planet with science movie, and then an alien shows up. You’re Ava Stratt - everyone on earth is freaking out about the sun dying and the earth freezing, and you send a man up into space to die. Years later you find out he met an alien? He says the alien will help and he does. Do you even care at that point? Do you tell people this? Is this the time to tell the world we have footage of an alien who helped save the world? Is this actually the perfect time to tell them because everything’s insane right now anyways? Love all the implications
