Kvothe as an unreliable narrator
So it’s no secret Kvothe as an unreliable narrator, but the scene everyone jumps to for proof is when he’s going on about how beautiful Denna is and Bast interjects and tells us she isn’t as beautiful as he says. But here’s the thing: when you love someone, they are beautiful in your perspective, regardless of how other people see them. So I truly believe Kvothe when he goes on and on about how beautiful she was. I think that scene shows that there can be two truths. A skewed perspective can be an honest one.
On another note, the example I like to use to prove Kvothe is an unreliable narrator is Kvothe talking about how amazing and wonderful and moral Edema Ruh. They would never steal anything or kill anyone. And then Kvothe talks about he’s Edema Ruh. And then he steals and kills people. So I mean, this is the better example of proving Kvothe is an unreliable narrator.

Book Discussion
Is there an adaptation (film, play, TV show etc) that you enjoyed more that the original book and why?
Stardust, because the movie is perfection but I don’t really like the book.
Chocolat because the book has some very depressing points including the ending.
I suppose some might argue that it would make it better.
Can not agree more in regards to StarDust. The movie always leaves a nice feeling in my stomach. The book was meh. But thats pretty much Niel Giamon. His books have a great concept but meh execution.
A playlist featuring The Wreckers, Leslie Odom Jr., Anna Nalick, and others
So here are some songs that make me think of Denna. Some are also kind of about Kvothe’s relationship with her as well.
Enjoy!!!
This is actually super cool, its totally what I would imagine Denna would listen to in a modern world.
