Updated 30 at 30 list
Here is my progress so far. Also, I altered two goals. The first I changed "read 30 books" to "pay off 2 more student loans" because I already have "print out American Classic lit list and read the ones that aren't checked off". Pretty sure there are more than 30 on that list that I haven't read. The second alteration is "donate at least 10$ to charity every month. I'm gonna donate to at least 12 charities which is the same thing but I'd rather go at my own pace.
1. One month of daily photoblogging (GOAL. blogged the month of Feb)
2. Visit 5 NYC Museums (one out of 5 so far)
3. Attend High Tea (reservation set for May 11th)
4.Take my husband out on a romantic date
5. Read Shakespeare’s entire canon (2 out of 38?)
6. In addition to Shakespeare, read 100 plays (21 out of 100, baby)
7. Create one thing from my DYI Crafster Pinterest board
8.Print out a list of American Classics and read what I haven't read yet
9. Complete a Tough Mudder in 3:30
10.Run a 5k without walking (COMPLETE Run for the Wild on April 26th)
11. Complete (another) Whole30 Challenge
12. Take a trapeze or aerial class
13. Take a dance class in tap, jazz, or Broadway
14. Teach myself basic piano
15. Pay off two more student loans
16. Write a short story or a chapter of a book or a One Act Play
17. Finish endtable project!
18. Watch 30 movies- 10 before 1950, 10 before 1970, and 10 Oscar Best Pictures from 1971 on
19. learn 30 songs- uke and singing
20. Revive Mustache Melody videos (seriously, thank you for watching them)
21. Visit DC (and hang with my friends who live there. I'm looking at you, Daner)
22.Read one non-fiction book
23. Paleo-fy a cookbook/create my own Paleo recipe binder
24.Try 30 new foods/spices
25. Write and send letters and cards to friends and family
26. Donate to charity once a month at least 10$ or donate to 12 charities at least 10$
27. Get a tattoo
28. Wine tasting in Eastern Long Island
29. Road Trip!
30. Buy myself something really nice WITHOUT putting it on the credit card (COMPLETE. This one is a little ambiguous and a) I am not really into material things and b) I realized I didn't have any acting classes on this list so I am filing the pricey tv and film acting class I bought myself without using my cc under this.
Post run zoo visit
#10 Run a 5K without stopping
Woo!! I am happy to report that on Saturday I ran a 5K to support the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Run For the Wild to make tracks for elephants which are being poached at an alarming rate. The run took place in The Bronx Zoo and my sister and I enjoyed a nice day walking around after the run. To be honest, I was sure I’d be up to running the whole thing because I’ve only been running up to a mile and a half in training. Thankfully, phones were allowed during the run and I was able to monitor my pace and distance. After about mile 2, I gelt that “runner’s rush” I needed to keep going. The morning was a crisp, cool day perfect for a morning run and getting to see zebras and hear exotic birds while running through the paths was a real treat.
Another Goal Complete!
Well, well, well, it has been a while since my last post. I assure you I have been chipping away at this list (reading 100 plays takes a bit of time to complete, as you can well imagine) and am keeping myself motivated. I have completed #30- "Buy myself something nice without putting it on my credit card". This goal is a little ambiguous and it didn't carry any guidelines to it so I could have taken the easy way out and gotten some shoes or something BUT I am happy to say I was able to align this goal with my larger goal/purpose in life (to be a working actor, fyi) and I bought myself an acting class in Manhattan. It cost three or four hundred bucks which I was able to pay for by picking up extra hours at work. Heck yeah! Perhaps next year I can add "go one year without using credit card" to my list of goals but let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'm surprised "take an acting class" was not on this list but perhaps it was because I created this list while auditioning for grad school and was reallllyy hoping to get accepted. Ah, well. Also- I have completed a subset of a goal (see why this is gonna take forever?! Subsets!) and have visited one NYC museum so far. My good friend Erin and I attended a lecture at the Morgan Library and Museum. I've got my eyes on the Whales Exhibition at Nat History Museum so there will be updates. Thanks for checking!
One goal complete! Well, well, well. It has been quite a long time since I have last posted but since my last post was a very ambitious list of goals to be completed within one year, I had to take some time to actually complete one of them.
And lo and behold! I have completed One Month of Photoblogging (which just so happened to be number one on the list).
I completed this on Instagram. I was gonna link to my account but then kinda whigged out. Sorry.
But here are two examples that didn't make it to Instagram. Enjoy!
30 Things To Do Now That I'm 30
Hey! I turned 30 a few weeks ago and I wrote a list of goals/fun things to do/things I would like to try all in a year. I will explain each goal in further detail and document as I go. I am a little behind with the "donate to charity each month" so I will double up with that. Some I have already started, and some I have no idea when I will find the time or money for, but I love a good challenge!
In no particular order:
1. One month of daily photoblogging (I am doing this currently on Instagram. Perhaps I'll share the photos, here, too.)
2. Visit 5 NYC Museums
3. Attend High Tea
4.Take my husband out on a romantic date
5. Read Shakespeare's entire canon
6. In addition to Shakespeare, read 100 plays
7. Create one thing from my DYI Crafster Pinterest board
8.Print out a list of American Classics and read/re-read them
9. Complete a Tough Mudder in 3:30
10.Run a 5k without walking
11. Complete (another) Whole30 Challenge
12. Take a trapeze or aerial class
13. Take a dance class in tap, jazz, or Broadway
14. Teach myself basic piano
15. Read 30 books and write 30 reactions
16. Write a short story or a chapter of a book
17. Finish endtable project!
18. Watch 30 movies- 10 before 1950, 10 before 1970, and 10 Oscar Best Pictures from 1971 on
19. learn 30 songs- uke and singing

Supersizing Literacy? U.K. McDonalds Swapping Happy Meal Toys for Books
- Liz Dwyer wrote in Education, Books and Literacy
If you head to McDonald’s in the U.K. you might hear a new question coming from behind the counter: Would you like a book with those fries? That’s right, move over cheap toys, pint sized British consumers of McDonald’s Happy Meals will now get a book instead. The fast food giant has partnered with publisher Dorling Kindersley and bookseller WH Smith and plans to distribute over 15 million books to kids over the next two years. The move makes McDonald’s the largest book distributor in the U.K.

Hey! This is a blog I created initially to document my first Whole30. Since then I have posted more recipes, pictures, and updates. It's way too complicated to transfer all that material over to this blog, so for now I will have two separate blogs. I update often so take a peek each week.
