âSure I do.â Said Goombario with a nod, and he headed to the living room, where he kept a notepad by the phone, and sat on the couch once he had retrieved it. It wasnât a large sofa, really, just a small goomba sized one, so Parakarry might not be entirely comfortable when he sat, but it was what Goombario had to offer.
âI work at Southside Books,â Goombario started once he had handed the notepad over, âOn the South side of town, obviously. I found the egg out back. It was about three quarters matured, and probably hadnât been kept very healthy up to then, as it was dull in color.â He coughed, âIt was just a couple of days ago, late afternoon, as I was getting off of my shift. I didnât see anything suspicious beforehand, Â but the egg wasnât there when I started work, so it was probably left sometime while I was there. Itâs a goomba egg, so it looks sort of like a large, narrow acorn with barbs on one end.â
Squeezing himself onto the couch, Karry took the notepad and immediately began scribbling down shorthand for every bid of info that left Barioâs mouth. He nodded every so often as he took it all in and waited until he was sure the goomba was done before stopping.
âShould be able to get a poster done up and posted tomorrow when the post office opens back up,â he said, tearing out the page written on and handing the rest of the pad back. âWant me to write down your address or number, or would you rather they just respond via post office so I can call you down?â
