that being said– it’s almost shocking to know that the words are from his very own ( adoptive ) parents. two wealthy celebrities who’s eyes have always been set on bigger and better thing; always on the limelight. never on something as time consuming and “life draining” as a child.
if you asked xander why his parents, both with the same view of children, adopted him, he would tell you he doesn’t know and that he doesn’t care
the real reason was because of the publicity it brought– adopting a child into their homes and parading him around as if he were a new shiny toy, creating some sob story that they rescued him from the system and– honestly he knew just how shit and fake they were the minute they adopted his eight year old ass and has honestly grown really bitter with them AND IS STILL bitter with them to this day
was pretty much left to be raised by nannies and he was more than okay with that bc every interaction with his “ parents ” left a bad taste in his mouth
pretty much was only ever around them for social events bc they would brag about his academic career and how he was on his way to becoming a great lawyer or doctor ( one of those fancy schmancy careers ) but when graduation for him rolled around he said a BIG FUCK YOU to them and enrolled into a college for the arts majoring in dance-- which is coincidentally where he found out he could contort-- working new and complicated things into his study and routines and found himself learning how to train his body to keep up the fluidity and how bendy he was while he was there
he thought it was hilarious and the best middle finger to them for how they treated him his whole life
they were livid
practically told him that he embarrassed them when they talked so highly and said he was more than welcomed to go but not to show his face back at their place and xander was like “bet?” and took that leap for freedom and never looked back but his college fund was cut off so he went off and looked for a job--- and lo and behold he found himself auditioning for la luna for shits and giggles ( and then shitting brick internally when he actually got in )
he’s still enrolled in the college but he does it online and on the low-- and keeps up on his dancing in the middle of the night when he knows no one is watching bc that was and always will be his first passion

minnie grew up in a very strict household when she was younger, up untikl she was 18 ( when she ran away with the circus to join them bc it looked amazing and just... so much more than what she felt like she had at home )
used to be in gymnastics-- honestly, was probably even on her way to make nationals but her family life was always intent on making their name known and making it big and just so RESTRICTING she was honestly starting to crack under the pressure until the circus rolled around
seeing them had opened minnie’s eyes and hse wanted to feel that free and happy and just.. she hsad turned 18 so she was technically legal and adult enough to make her own decisions so she packed up a small bag and never looked back when she applied to be a part of the circus

so if i had to compare minnie to people she would definitely be a combination of joey tribbiani ( FRIENDS ), carl gallagher ( SHAMELESS ), and A TINY BIT like anna ( FROZEN )
that being said, minnie is someone who you should never take anything she says to heart-- she likes to joke and jest a lot with any and everyone despite the situation !!
her brain to mouth filter is almost none existent due to the fact she just... doesn’t care to hold herself back or filter herself. this came from the fact that she grew up in a very rule/schedule oriented household before she joined the circus

has, on many occasions, joked around with new comers about “falling” and jokingly made it look like she messed up on a routine and fell before catching herself and teased them that she didn’t actually mess up and that she wasn’t going to hurt herself
very blunt in the sense of she won’t hesitate to get in an argument if she feels like arguing. sometimes she’ll even purposefully start an argument bc she’s bored. probably has gone out to the local bars and gotten into spats with the patrons there for FUN
honestly tho... it’s all kind of a front she puts up. the uncaring, jesting, clown type person who has no boundaries and/or regrets.... yeah, no, she really does but that’s like.... something she doesn’t want people to think she has because that means being vulnerable to a person and giving them control over you and she’s been there done that. won’t do it again.
has the mentality that if people don’t expect much from you then you can’t disappoint them
