For everyone’s information:

The plan for the 17th, when the adult content ban comes in, is to protest.

To do that, we are making as much noise either side of the 17th as possible, and using the site as normal.

On the 17th, dead silence.

People are saying log off but what they really mean is don’t open the site or the app.

But, on the 17th make as much noise as possible on every other platform. Tweet about it and post on facebook and instagram and everywhere else.

What this does is causes a massive dip in ad revenue for one single day. That does not make staff think ‘oh everyone’s gone let’s shut down.’ What it actually makes them think is ‘oh shit people aren’t happy and if people don’t keep using our site we’re out of money and out of jobs.’

A boycott reminds a company that the users (consumers) have the power to make their site (business) worthless with one single coordinated decision.

If you want to join in, here’s what to do:

Do:

Close all open instances of the app and site on all your devices before the 17th

Make posts before and after the 17th on tumblr and other platforms, talking about why this ban is bad

Make posts on other sites during the 17th. Flood the official tumblr staff twitter and facebook with your anger and your opinion

Come back on the 18th and check in

Don’t:

Delete the app from your phone (this doesn’t affect their revenue and since it’s off the store at the moment it’ll be hard to get back)

Delete your account. I mean you can if you want to, but if you keep your account and don’t use it you’re saying to staff that there’s still time to save it. If you delete it’s hard work to come back.

Open the app or website (including specific blogs)

Make any posts (turn down/off your queue and make sure nothing is scheduled)

Go quiet elsewhere. Make it clear that this is just about tumblr, not a mass move away from all social media.

Remember: the execs don’t care about anything but money. Shutting down the site means there’s $0 further income from it. That’s their last possible course of action. If we make it clear we’re not happy, they’ll have to do something or we can do more and more until it becomes too expensive.

Protests take commitment. They’re a defiant action against a business that is doing something wrong. They will try to scare you into not participating, because they’re scared. We hold all the power here, sometimes the execs just need to be reminded of that.

1 year clean and it feels like I'm about to fall off the wagon.

I’m not going to lie. I’m almost one year clean. (I can’t remember because after I decided to stop, I kept falling off the wagon for about a month after)

Some days I still find myself digging my fingernails into the palm of my hands, or thinking about how it used to feel running the scissors down my thighs. But most days, things are okay.

My depression has been manageable, and most days I wake up with the desire to go out into the world and live a full and adventurous day. Without my bff depression constantly at my side, I never feel the urge to hurt myself anymore.

But I’m starting to wonder a lot, if I’m really okay. Lately I’ve been struggling to feel the same sense of “happiness", and everything becomes a blurry blob. I can’t find motivation to go to classes, and every night before bed, I cry. Some nights it’s a lot, some nights it’s a little.

My boyfriend doesn’t get it, and he has his own troubles, so I don’t tell him. But he also isn’t the same guy who got me out of the deep dark hole I was in. He was so inspirational and positive. Now he’s just stuck in a pessimistic mess and stares at his ceiling when he gets up. Am I rubbing off on him? Is it such a bad thing to date me that it turns a person to mush?

He doesn’t understand my “sadness". He thinks it’s mood swings, or if I’m on a period, or just because I sometimes feel sad. He doesn’t understand that depression doesn’t need a reason, it comes and goes with the chemicals in my body, that when I’m not feeling well physically, mentally I struggle too. With my bladder pain being a lot less controllable and my constant headaches from not sleeping enough, I consistently feel like I can’t control my body. And my mind comes with it.

He doesn’t understand that it’s not really “sadness" I feel. It’s numbness, and removal, and loneliness. He doesn’t get that I feed off of his energy, and sometimes in my numbness, his encouragement and care help me keep going. I found it so hard to say “I love you" after we talked today, because I struggled so much to sense the love from him. All I feel is negativity and annoyance. And I know I’m not the world’s chillest girlfriend, but he used to love me, crazy and all.

We act optimistic. And funny. And cute. And people love it. I want to be an inspiration. But how can I be when I’m hurting on the inside?

I just want to run the scissors to where my scars have faded, run a razor down my arm. But Live, love, have faith and stay anchored was what I promised myself. And so I have to try and try and try.

Everyday is just another battle.

I don’t want to lose.

Big Hit Entertainment Releases Official Statement About Recent Controversies

On November 13, Big Hit Entertainment issued a full statement about recent issues. Their full statement reads: “Hello, this is Big Hit Entertainment. Recently, there are many different issues surrounding our artists BTS. Our statement is as follows: “These are the issues that Big Hit has reviewed: first, that our artist has worn a shirt with imagery of the atomic bomb. Second, that our artist has worn a hat with Nazi symbolism in an old photo shoot for a Korean media outlet. Third, that our artists are said to have used flags with Nazi imagery during a performance at a concert in which they participated. “This is our statement in response to each of those issues: in BTS’s promotions as well as the promotions of all our artists, Big Hit does not support war or the atomic bomb. We oppose these things and did not mean to cause harm to the victims of the atomic bomb. There will be no more issues like this going forward. “In BTS’s promotions as well as the promotions of all our artists, Big Hit does not support any form of totalitarianism, including Nazism, or any groups with radical political tendencies. We oppose these things and had no intention of causing harm to the historical victims of these groups. There will be no more issues like this going forward. “This is our apology for the issues mentioned above. About the item of clothing with atomic bomb imagery, as we stated above, it was not done with any intent, and we have confirmed that the shirt itself was not produced with the intention of causing harm to the victims of the atomic bomb. However, it is obvious that harm may have been caused unintentionally to the victims when the shirt was worn due to our lack of foresight and preparation. We sincerely apologize for potentially causing discomfort through the appearance of our artists being connected with atomic bomb imagery. “About the hat with Nazi symbolism being used in an old photo shoot, as we have stated above, it was not done with any intent. The clothes and accessories used in the photo shoot were given to us by the media outlet. Our artists ended up wearing them due to our inability to sufficiently check beforehand and harm may have been caused unintentionally to the victims of Nazism. We sincerely apologize for causing discomfort through the appearance of our artists being connected with Nazi imagery. “However, we would like to clearly state that the responsibility for these issues lies with Big Hit, who was not able to fully support our artists. Our artists have to deal with many schedules and site conditions and the responsibility for the above issues does not lie with them. “This is our statement on the issue of the concert performance: the concert in question was the 2017 anniversary concert of the legendary Korean artist Seo Taiji. The performance in question was built around the social message of criticizing the reality of standardized education. The imagery on the flags was artwork without any connection to Nazism. The message of the performance was to criticize a standardized, totalitarian education system. The performance became an issue because it was said that it was related to Nazism. This is not true at all, and in fact the performance was meant to criticize that kind of totalitarian reality.” “Big Hit will do our best to reform these problems that have been raised. Our motto is to give comfort and emotion to the world through our music and our artists. It is a challenge for us to consider the many elements that arise from living in an era of diversity and tolerance, but we are doing our best to fulfill that duty. I’m working off memory here, but he hires ex-cons and former sex-workers (giving one young woman a business card as Batman and telling her Wayne Industries was hiring receptionists), pays for his employees’ scholarships, hires people released from Arkham, made sure no employees were sacked when WI took over GothCorp after their CEO was fired, hired a bunch of homeless guys he met while undercover as a homeless guy (investigating the kidnapping of Gotham’s homeless, which turned out to be a slavery/human trafficking ring).

He also runs the Thomas/Martha Wayne Foundations, which provide cheap medical clinics and soup kitchens across Gotham. Both fall under the Wayne Foundation: The primary aims of the foundation are, globally, to enhance healthcare and reduce extreme poverty, to expand educational opportunities and access to information technology, and to fund scientific research and help altruistic people with research by providing facilities and training.

According to Wikipedia, his company is researching cures to HIV/AIDs and alternative fuel sources, if that helps any.
