The only "Odyssey" I care about was manufactured in 2013 by Honda, speaks Japanese, and drives in the Forgotten Realms.
"Don't get attached to Freddie's character because they're probably gonna die" I assure you whatever Will Campos inflicts upon his character will be a fate worse than death.
Saw this trend and knew I had to do something dndads for it!
Im an avid polydads lover - so this was the perfect opportunity to FINALLY draw all the S1 dads!
(Unrelated, but I’m listening to the S2 finale later, so be prepared for a post on that)
Individual drawings under the cut.
my grandkids headcanons that are true to me until i’m proven wrong
- Lila and Oliver are both 14-15 years old
- Aja is 12-13 years old
- Tim (i’m like 99% sure Tim is the grandson and Ted is the son) is 11-12
- Lila, Oliver, and Aja are like actual friends and Lila and Oliver were two of the first people Aja came out to
- Lila, Oliver, and Aja only put up with their original fourth teammate bc they’re good at the game, but they do not like him as a person
- Lila and Oliver both have massive crushes on each other but they’re teenagers that are too nervous to do anything about it
- Aja is aware of both crushes and she frequently comments on how they argue like an old married couple (especially about what is or is not family friendly) and/or that they act like they’re her mom and dad just to fuck with them
- Even tho Aja is still in middle school and Lila and Oliver are in high school, anyone who would be transphobic is too scared of Lila to say anything to Aja
- Tim is at the same middle school Aja is at, but he does not know that bc they’re in different grades and also he’s too busy hiding from his bullies and she’s too nervous to call any extra attention to herself
- Aja is very careful about online safety so Tim doesn’t even know she lives in the same area as him
- The only people that are able to successfully calm Aja down from a panic attack are Oliver and Lila
- Lila and Aja are the only one of Oliver’s friends that know he’s bipolar and one of the reasons his family thinks he’s on top of taking his medicine is because they help remind him to take it (Aja was actually the one who recommended the weekly pill case)
I wondered how The Doodler reached out to help Ron if it was contained in the Oak bloodline, but imagine with me, Little Hen, maybe four or five, having a dream where he sees a boy being drowned and wanted to help, and in that desire was able to reach through the realms only to grab the boy's father and drag him through to the Forgotten Realms. He wakes up and goes to tell his father, and for once Bear doesn't seem disinterested, though he does his best not to let on just how much power he's realized his son has. Yet from that day on, Hen finds himself held to higher standards, higher expectations, like his father knows he's capable of greater power than he actually can access.
Also Henry making the connection between this dream and Ron some time after Death of a Salesman and blames himself for dragging Willy to the Forgotten Realms and causing everything else that happened.
i will never be the same person i was before glenn’s verdict in season one. this isn’t even in a depressing way, i just genuinely believe that if it was factually correct it would’ve been “guilty for being a bad person” and “not guilty for being a bad father”. literally a direct example of how the justice system has failed us
Dungeons and Daddies: Hey, we need a few theme songs for each season of our show. It’s just a ridiculous dnd podcast about dads and no actual dnd, so no need to go that hard.
Maxton Waller:
Thinking about Glenn going to Hell after ep66. Dropping in at the gates and doing the same walk down the circles the teens did however many years later. Sure you're supposed to be assigned a circle but Glenn's a man who loves his vices, right? He gets waved through with a vague take your pick...
Is he tempted? Does every circle remind him of a different way he let Nick down? Of every time he put himself first. Stay here, we have everything you've ever craved. It would be so easy to. Just. Stop. Aren't you tired? But Nick is here somewhere. And he's still not Glenn's Nick, not really, but there was that flicker of recognition and Glenn has to know what exactly that means. So he shoves down the temptation and the shame, and keeps going.
Do you think he gets all the way down to Envy and he's outside his old house, but there's an unfamiliar car on the drive?
When he walks into the kitchen he feels like his heart has been ripped open all over again because Morgan and Nick are sat at the table. Not Nicholas, not demon Nick. His Nick. Down to the chipped nail polish and the stupid slit in his eyebrow he always nicked Glenn's razor to redo. And maybe Glenn stumbles towards them just as Jodie walks into the room and asks what's going on. And maybe Nick looks Glenn dead in the eye and says you had your chance and you fucked it, and look how much better it is with you gone.
Do you think Glenn's legs give out the second Jodie shuts the door behind him? How long do you think he sits on the front step listening to the two people he loves most in the world living a better life than he could have ever given them, with the person who took them from him?
Do you think it's more or less painful when he eventually sees the real Nick, who remembers most of both people he's been but isn't quite either of them anymore?
possibly the greatest tragedy of Francis Farnsworth’s life is that he was loved. his parents loved him and so he was sentenced from his birth to be something he would have never chosen to be. his friends loved him and so the world was condemned to ruin, and it felt like his fault. He was loved and so he suffered. He was loved and so others suffered in his place.
Something about being unable to accept affection, not understanding why someone would love you as much as they do when you actually have no worth
Because you’ve done so many fucked up things that in order for someone to actually feel anything for you, you must have manipulated them into it- and your worst fear is the possibility that they will realize that and leave you, even though really that’s all that you deserve.
(sorry the quality’s so shit, it’s tumblr’s fault)
I know practically nothing about what the crew is planning for season 4, but I do know a few things. Will's character will cause/be a product of generational trauma. Matt's will flirt with the other PCs. Beth's will be hilarious and characterized in the craziest way possible. And of course, Freddie's character will be 100% unhinged and face death head on at least 3 times (likely dying from it).
man idk. I empathize with Anthony bc if that finale happened to a character of mine it would also keep me up. but even if we’re to take him at face value, I still think there’s something so beautiful about the fact that the world ended because the people around Francis loved him too much to stand back and let him sacrifice himself. idk. sometimes loving someone who is hurting feels like the world’s ending. sometimes you feel like you’d risk that if it meant they’d be okay. maybe that’s selfish. maybe people are selfish when they love each other. how incredibly human.

Just finished season one of my new hyperfixation, and it's got me feeling like this. None of it was their fault but also so much of it was.
I've started listening to season 2 and I feel insane, not done yet so no spoilers plz <3

"you were a wonderful experience"
"you were... everything"
with Jodie and Morgan after she chooses Glenn
Lark is the only kiddad to be a highschool dropout. After people started to get doodlerized, he decided that helping the dads was much more important than any future endeavors that the school system would bolster (cause what's the future even going to be thanks to the Doodler).
Henry and Mercedes were not huge fans of this decision, so they tried to find ways to get Lark to continue to learn. They tried to convince him to do hybrid learning, they tried homeschooling, even hands on learning, but he turned them all down. It got to a point where they decided that they just had to help Lark grow independent by making sure he didn't spend all his time at d.a.d.d.i.e.s.
So Lark took a part-time volunteer position at the library. He said it was because the hours were flexible enough to be able to run out if there was a mission, but what Lark really wanted from the position was the ability to find books that weren't allowed in the house. He used his breaks to read anything he found that might connect back to the Doodler.
This is how he found records of events in peachyville, something with a cursed movie set, and the surprisingly accurate writings of HP Lovecraft. All of them were useful, but his greatest interest was the collection of events about something called the King in Yellow.
