France continues to show its love for Anthony Rubio Designs! This time, our New York Fashion Week 2025 presentation, featuring Canine Couture, Women’s, and Men’s Wear has been spotlighted in none other than France’s own Madame Figaro Magazine.

Words can’t fully express the joy, pride, and gratitude I feel. Thank you to all involved.

Anthony Rubio, a pioneer in pet couture, has been designing women’s wear since 1988 and expanded into pet fashion in 2003. He launched his first full-scale runway show in 2008, and in 2012, made history as the first pet fashion designer to showcase during New York Fashion Week — a tradition he continues twice a year.

A Little Backstory

In 2013, Anthony Rubio began an ambitious creative project: recreating the showstopping looks from the Met Gala — but for dogs. Originally intended as a photo series, the project quickly captured public attention, setting a new standard for pet fashion.

By 2023, to mark the tenth anniversary of the project, Rubio took things a step further. He organized an exclusive, in-person press presentation, offering a rare opportunity to view the designs up close.

The momentum continued into 2024, with Rubio transforming The Pet Gala into a full-scale event, featuring a 24-foot red carpet, live performances, a sit-down dinner, and a runway show. The event was held at the AKC Museum of the Dog in New York City and quickly became his signature annual celebration.

Looking ahead, the 2025 edition promises to uphold the event’s growing legacy, remaining primarily invite-only, with a very limited number of guest tickets available.

The Impact

Over the years, Anthony Rubio's charity-driven runway shows have raised more than four million dollars for animal shelters and rescue organizations — a testament to the heart and mission behind the glitz and glamour.

What began as a niche photo project has evolved into the must-attend pet fashion event of the year. Celebrities including Salma Hayek, Cardi B, Colman Domingo, Blake Lively, and others have shared and celebrated Rubio’s stunning recreations, further cementing The Pet Gala's cultural influence.

What's Yet To Come Filming for the documentary will take place at the Guide Dog Foundation #DogsOnTheCatwalk event (DogCouture.GuideDog.org) later this month and continue with upcoming projects which we will announce soon.

#LAFW #FashionWeek Making Fashion Memories While we go through albums of photos from my recent LA Fashion Week presentation, I saw this among so many which brought such joy and serenity to me. I love my models and how magnificently they represent me on the runway. I so appreciate my photographer friends who support and capture my creations, my models and my presentations as only they can. This photo taken at the closing of my show featured my Kimba who still loves the runways and fashions as he did his first time. His brother Bogie opened the show also reminding the world of his staying power in Fashion. Both boys make me so proud. #LAFW #FashionWeek Last To Get Dressed.... I can not express enough how much I appreciate my models. Everyone is so attentive offering to help where they could once they themselves are ready. I always leave Bogie and Kimba to be dressed last before the show. Their garments are always ready and fitted so there are no real worries BUT when you have only a few minutes before you have to run upstairs and be set to hit that runway things can get slippery and a little challenging. Thankfully I had my lovely model, Miranda Jade came over to offer to help. She held one while I dressed the other. On the other hand, since Bogie really loves the ladies. it is calming to him that one of the ladies holds and handles him. Before we knew it they were ready and this shot was taken before we were off to the catwalk. Bogie opened the show and Kimba closed. They had fun and per usual represented their dad's brand magnificently. Our human model, Gamze wears a black body con sequin cocktail dress with coordinating one sleeved sheer top featuring glass bead work in black and Metallic gold. It's a look that can cross seasons and be word at just about any time of day. Swipe #LAFW #FashionWeek The @Guardian Was Watching We fly all the way out to the West Coast, schlepping so much luggage which contains not just our clothes and toiletries but an entire runway show. There are creations for 20 human models and 20 for pets and then some.Yes, it is a huge undertaking to just get it all there. The fact is that my LA presentations are a labor of love with little expectations.We have no idea or control on who attends or how much press we will get. Unlike the legendary New York or European Fashion Weeks, the LA shows are more laid back and for entertainment. That said we had the privilege to have a reporter for The Guardian join us and we gave him not just a look but an experience of what goes into these presentations. For my Anthony Rubio Designs Fashion Show for Los Angeles Fashion Week 2023, we received many many applications from models which made it so difficult to pick and choose only twenty. Among the models was this young lady who immediately appealed to me. Little did I know how her presence would affect me. She arrived and greeted everyone and came over to me for us to pick a dress and when I looked up I was immediately taken by her. What presence and such poise. Rob brought a dress over which I dismissed questioning why he wanted to cover her all up. He then divulged that she was only 20 years old at which point I broke into laughter. I realized what he was saying but with that figure I knew exactly what I wanted to put on her and she was so thrilled. See for yourself how captivating she turned out. I always say that the canine/feline models are the best to work with because they have no issues when it comes to my show. They know they are the stars and that I am all about their comfort and safety. They never give us a hard time. One such star is our Bogie who is getting on in his years but still wants to be included so he opened up our show. Bogie loves the runways and he especially loes the pretty ladies. This was his and his brother Kimba's 19th Fashion Week show and they continue to rock it...
