How do I explain to people the pure hilarity that is "no beta we die like [fandom refrence]" and the pure joy I get out of it
Whether you believe bisexuality was inclusive of nonbinary people in the 1960s, or whatever the latest debate is, the fact is that the bi community has spent the majority of the last decade trying to make it clear that bisexual means or should mean much more than just “attraction to men and women”, and there has been very, very little push back from within the bi community. The general concensus is that the word “bisexual” should be infinitely broad and inclusive, no matter what the etymological root is. Bisexuals do not want “bisexual” to be limited.
The only people desperately trying to reinforce the idea that “bisexual means 2 genders” are people who do not identify as bisexual.
i’m curious: reblog this with your favorite mdzs/cql character and whether you’re the eldest/middle/youngest/only child in your family
only thing i agree with dads on is when it rains and they say ‘we needed that’ bc like. we did
what is a writer, if not a miserable little pile of ideas and half written google docs
Don't attack me like this
someone who is arguing that bisexual and pansexual are fundamentally synonyms: *500 page analysis into how the label bisexual was initially coined in history, the debate over the terminology around the word, the historical inclusion of trans people in lgbt+ spaces, the discriminatory way that trans people are often perceived as beyond the gender binary even when they identify within that binary, and the direct implications between reducing bisexuality to a functionally incorrect definition and spreading biphobic and transphobic rhetoric*
someone who believes in the "bi = 2 pan = all" argument: "okay well that's cute sweetie but i'll have you know that i've read every percy jackson book (all of them!) so i'm pretty much fluent in greek and according to the greek language, "bi" is actually a prefix referring to the number "2" which means that bisexuality means you are attracted to "2" genders. no i am not going to consider why the label "bi"sexual was chosen to refer to the community or what other bi/trans people have to say about this at all. hope this helps :)"
real romance is just being deeply stupid together. i dream of one day meeting someone i can be deeply stupid with and not feel embarrassed
even spicier take: “non-binary” means a thousand different things to a thousand different people and therefore anyone of any sexuality could theoretically be attracted to a non-binary person in some capacity, so if you’re gay and someone you’re attracted to says, “i’m non-binary,” you don’t actually have to redefine your entire identity, you can just drink a cup of sleepytime tea and go right on being gay and into non-binary people.
my kink is pushing people away so i can leave them before they leave me because i’m scared of abandonment
