But, like, in brighter news, someone uploaded The Residents The King & Eye RMX album that got taken down on the official channel. Or maybe I'm the only one happy about that. It's got 4 likes on it in the 7 months it's been up. I mean, can you believe that already weird covers of Elvis songs further remixed into club electronica isn't more popular?

Texted Dad about the Howlin' Wolf thing because he's the guitar guy and I thought he'd find it interesting. There was a point where he was typing, stopped, then typed again "Yep, super super influential! Hendrix borrowed a lot from him and that spread into rock" and, man, I wish my Dad was someone who I could just believe the knowledge of, and not someone who I would immediately suspect of typing "Howlin Wolf influences" into an AI search or something before responding.

Like, I know he has guitar knowledge and such and it's perfectly reasonable that he'd know that, but I could also just see him doing the latter scenario pretty easily.

From what I'm remembering, this movie felt like a fake one that you'd see playing in the background of a scene from a genuine movie.

Like, something a character watches when he's bored at home, with ramen in his lap, trying to get over his ex before he gets a call from his buddies to go on a trip that will serve as the actual plot.

I think about that New Hebrides piece that Matisse kept trying to gift Picasso occasionally. As a design it does kick ass, which Pablo could not see, calling it a "third rate tribal piece" and not understanding why Matisse assumed him to be a "barbarian" who would accept it.

And he still ended up asking Matisse's son to let him have it after Matisse had passed away. Like, Oh no, Pablo, it will end up with you.

I think this design represents the the Vanautu mythical woman Nevimbumbao, the originator of the first graded societies, aka societies segmented by ritual ranking, initiations, and social statuses.

If I read the flickr description correctly, the center piece in this pic is a helmet mask with her on top and her son, Sasndaliep, on the bottom.

But info is kind of scarce, so I could be off. The whole point of "grading" was to keep certain info secret except to those within certain social grades, so you can imagine it's intentionally a little cryptic.

"Cryptomeria" sounds like either the name of a metal band or a gothic countess boss in a video game, and then you see it and it's, y'know, a pretty cedar tree that has an interesting grain pattern.

The only benefit of YT thinking I'm a 45+ year old man is that sometimes the softcore suggestions it gives me are, sometimes, at least a little bit funny when paired with the suggestions that are actually related to something I've watched.

I really dislike that eBay and other site sellers are just taking pics of their wares and asking AI to create a lengthy sales pitch for them. Like, yes, I do want a product description, as in the quality, size and condition of the item, but not AI's take on it's appearance or what decor it goes with.

And then you get nonsense phrases like "a charming and elegant choice for both unisex adults." Who? Who are the two unisex adults? I didn't know unisex had two distinct categories?

And this is describing drinking glasses. Unless you're dealing with really destructive or really young kids, I'm pretty sure a minor could use them.

It speaks to how meh-ly this went over that I haven't even heard the biggest Current Situation cheering news channels even discuss it, but this is, admittedly, an absolutely hilarious way of saying "It stunk."

It's almost exactly this scene, except with (State) instead of lamp.

Still holding onto my theory that, in a prior life, I was some rather naive, blue collar guy who loved kitsch deep down but felt it had no place in his life, saw R.Welch in Breckinridge, ogled at pics of J. Mansfield's Pink Palace and thought "that's what it'll be like if I come back as a lady! No more union job, no more engine grease, no more yard work: just sexy glamor!" and wished very hard on several stars.

Like, look, man. I can't blame you for dreaming. But I don't think just having a birth certificate F was going to ensure you a giant Barbie house for snuggling in a fancy bed with a Fawcett Blonde.

I get what he wanted, but he ended up with more of himself in the mix than intended. Now there's an nb who wishes they were big enough for a stable labor gig and gets gender envy from facial hair, but also occasionally, paradoxically, wants to be a Barbie with a Babe, and neither of those are especially feasible for varying reasons.

But, I mean, he did get to play with 90s Barbies. I did give him that.

Still kind of kicking myself for not letting Dad buy me a $60 Bohemian lamp during his visit, kicked myself a little harder when searching pics from the Madonna Inn and saw someone took a photo of one of the suites that features a white-to-cranberry version of one of them:

I was a fool! The one I saw was white-to-green, though. I can't recall if it was painted or not. It had a weird marble base and no shade.

Never had thought of putting a hurricane glass globe on one. Thank you, Madonna Inn.
