Rapunzel spends half the summer in the pool or a lake. Eugene taught her how to swim, and in turn they taught Kiera and Catalina. Rapunzel plans pool and lake trips for all of them and packs snacks and drinks.
Eugene was the lifeguard at a pool one summer. Varian purposefully broke the rules to annoy him.

Rapunzel is an amazing roller skater and she and Eugene go on skating dates together. Varian, Lance, and the girls go sometimes to spy on them and nibble on concessions.
Old Corona had one run down summer camp which was Varian’s favorite place to go, it was one of the few places he genuinely felt he could be himself and he still keeps in touch with the friends he made.
Rapunzel loves ice cream of any flavor (except for pistachio and pecan), Lance loves orange creamsicles, Varian loves rocket pops, Eugene loves kiwi sorbet, and the girls love those cheap tube popsicles. Lance loves Snow Cones as well.
If the girls ask nicely enough, Varian will let them ride in the back of his pickup.
Rapunzel goes backpacking in Hawai’i one summer.

Rapunzel and Lance go to farmers markets together. They start a garden too, eventually.
From May-September, Varian’s wardrobe is just short shorts and an oversized shirt.
Rapunzel is visibly brighter and glowing in the summer. This is a phenomenon Varian is still studying.
Rapunzel’s pool hair isn’t very different from her normal hair, Varian’s is a crisp, Eugene doesn’t let his head under the water if he can help it, Lance….doesn't have this problem.
