Before season 3 premiered, @benbalistreri​ and Chris started the #variancosplay trend to promote it, so I thought it’d be fun to do that again before the episodes continue in January, but with different characters!

(I don’t know if I’ll have the time to make more, but Rapunzel as either Adora or Entrapta sounds fun)

This is a piece I did awhile ago, when RTA/TTS ended. So this is one of if not one of the most amazing shows I’ve ever seen, visually and conceptually and one of the show that I was actually consistent with while it aired. It holds a special place in my heart and the characters, old and new have definitely cemented themselves in my heart as well. So prepare for more TTS fan art coming your way!

Tangled the series where everything is the same except Rapunzel manages to befriend Andrew post-Under Raps and he becomes a part of the main cast. He and Cass would be very antagonistic at first, which would turn into a love/hate friendship akin to her relationship with Eugene, and his friendship with Eugene would be very similar (with a lot of peacocking and one upping the other.) I think he’d have an older brother type relationship with Rapunzel, and I like to think he’d form a close bond with Varian, especially after his villain arc. Maybe if Andrew had been there in the first place and wasn’t actively trying to corrupt Varian, he could have helped him.

Uhh a MHA au I randomly thought of when watching YouTube where basically Rapunzel and friends (plus team radical) are in the MHA universe, Rapunzel would be apart of class 1A same with Cass and Eugene, Varian would be in the support course along with Hugo, Yong and Nuru would be in class 1B.. so anyways I decided to design Rapunzel I'm still working out the au giggles

Day 18 of Cassandra Appreciation Month Part 2!

Yeah that's right, we're doing both the shoutout and the discussion. WE RIDE LIKE MAXIMUS!

Anyway...

Waiting in the Wings and its reprise are the culmination and the very core of Cassandra's entire arc

It's arguably the first time we get a full unfiltered look at Cass's psyche. Oh sure we got bits and pieces in season 1 but not like this. WITW finally gave us the full scope of her arc, showed us Cass's internal struggles, how much pain she's in and how no one notices. Literally, girl belted at the top of her lungs and somehow NONE of the gang woke up. And I think it's interesting how the lyric "and still I stand there waiting" implies that Cassandra believes she's also to blame for waiting so long. She places an emphasis on how she's kept waiting, but then also emphsizes how she just stays waiting. Like she can't push herself to take the chance she's offered.

And the fact that we literally nearly see Cassandra cry in this song, but she holds it back. Because even alone she can't let her mask slip. She HAS to be strong even when no one's watching.

And the reprise hurts even more cause that's Cass fully realizing this cycle has been going on literally her entire life. This whole cycle of "Oh just keep waiting Cass and you'll get what you're asking for." is just a thing to placate her, it's never gonna happen. Even the very melody, the tune of the music box has stuck with her all this time and she never knew why until now. She has always been stuck in that limbo, always serving, always hidden, always waiting. It honestly hurts so much how well the lyric "do your humble duty with a smile on your face" STILL applies to Cassandra's adulthood.

There's something so funny to me about the idea of Hector being so scared of Cassandra not even because of the mind trap incident. He's fully afraid of her because she beat him at the Great Tree. He sees her and Kill Bill sirens go off in his head.
