re: the first one, it has to do with mirror neurons. :3 Not so much directly causing muscles to react similarly, but rather gives the brain the same feelings as someone dancing, or as the article uses the example of cringing when someone gets hit in the face with a frisbee. Also the feelings you get when watching videos/movies that “move’ you could be explained with mirror neurons.
That’s correct! For anyone who’s wondering, mirror neurons are one reason why we are able to sometimes experience what others are experiencing. For example, when you see a soccer player gets socked and you can kind of feel that too.
