Philanthropic Opportunism || [Anders and Zevran]
Being woken up by a text from Anders was not a new thing, though Elissa wished it was. However, being woken by a text from Anders that was actually for her and relevant to her âfieldâ was a first. This was the only reason she dragged herself out of bed, showered (lukewarm though it was) and headed out the door with only minor trepidation that this might still in fact be some elaborate prank.
If it was sheâd be sure theyâd never find his body.
Around an hour later Elissa made her way down the alleyway that deadended in the clinic door, hearing flirtatious banter from within and immediately second guessing what sheâd been asked there to do. When she stepped inside she immediately caught Andersâs eye, returning his smile in a much less exaggerated fashion and cocking an eyebrow at the elven assassin at his side.Â
"From the looks of things youâve already got someone with my skill set." She noted, nodding to her contemporary. "Any particular reason you require the services of two assassins? If itâs because youâre taking a contract out on yourself, then Iâm totally in. Iâll even do it for free."
"Sorry to disappoint." Anders chuckled, offering her a glass of brandy, which she unsurprisingly declined, instead dropping down into an empty chair and waiting for an explanation. "Zevran, this is the illustrious Elissa Cousland."
After a quick pause for introductions, and a prompt from Elissa to get on with it, he launched into an explanation, pointing out the necessary points on the map. âI need you to do what you do best. Play a part. Preferably as lovely and damsely as you can manage, meaning that look is not going to work.â
When she snorted but reluctantly agreed, they set a time to meet just outside the Lowtown gates. Elissa would secure a vehicle of her own while Anders would pull a few strings to get one for himself and Zevran. As the sun hit mid day, Anders made his way to the pre-established location finding the unmarked, untraceable vehicle heâd requested already waiting there.
Zevran raised his eyebrows at the lovely woman who eventually entered the clinic. He would have readily identified her as an assassin even as she seemed to have done him, had he met her elsewhere, but she was of a sort he had not encountered since he was still a Crow. âA pleasure to meet you,â he purred, inclining his head courteously, before turning his attention to the plan Anders began outlining. Normally he would have been more flirtatious, but having already gotten the impression that he and Anders were cut from the same cloth in that respect, he did not want to immediately place himself in the same category in the ladyâs mind if they were to have to work together.

A surprisingly short time later, Zevran headed for the rendezvous point that Anders had specified, where they would pick up the vehicle. Both man and van were already in place.
