just venting on some stuff thats been going on lately.
So I’ve been doing full day of school and then full day of work this semester.
1 day of school being from 12:45-7:30(just being at school alone, not counting homework or anything)
1 day of work(12 hours, half of the time I get to have a 2 hour break and half of the time i don’t)
so it would be monday(school), tuesday(work), wednesday(school),thursday(work), Friday(either open up shop, work half the day, or help take care of niece and nephew), saturday and sunday(work or obligated to spend time with family). This is just how its normally done, but I am expected to do errands during my break/day off or even while i’m working in which I makes it hard because when i work, most of the time I get assigned with employees who do not speak english so they can’t take orders or use the register, I don’t even have a break at all so I have to work the whole 12 hrs without having a chance to eat.
And everytime I get assigned all these tasks, I just wonder..... where the hell are the other 4 managers/bosses? These managers/bosses are “busy” going to birthdays/parties/bars so they can not do these tasks supposedly. At first I was like fine, yeah I can do these little things, but now I have to deal with almost every single task, Half of them do not even show up to the shop when they are assigned and they only need to shop up ONCE A MONTH, instead they go out and say I can’t make it and guess who always has to go in, ME.
Well now I’m just at the point of not picking up any calls or texts on my days off because I do not want to have to keep dealing with everything. I have my own obligations, and I need my time to rest.
Just before my first week of school, I had to be in work for 7 days straight, then had 1 day off, then another 6 days straight on my first week of school.
Every week there is some type of emergency that I have to deal with. Only twice I was able to get help because those two times, I actually got sick. I worked 5 times a week before for 2 years and never got sick because I was able to have breaks or at least work half days only so I had time to rest up but when I started to become a manager, in 1 month, I already got sick twice.
Not to mention, I had barely even went to school because I had to drop classes to deal with work, but now I need to focus more on school and less on work.
So my new thing is just, ignore calls/texts during days I don’t work, on days i do work I will answer. I need time for myself/homework. I am not going to drive myself into madness and worry about other things when I shouldn’t have to be the only one to be dealing with it.
