Okay, it’s not a Thursday, but we’re going to throwback anyways! The pic on the left was taken about a year ago. The one on the right was taken today. It’s the first time I’ve worn this shirt in a year, and when I put it on, I suddenly remembered that old photo. so I figured the day was ripe for a comparison! :D
Clearly a lot has changed!
HRT - None in the old photo, 11 months today.
Corset Training - About 2 months down, and yes, I’m actively corseted in the pic from today.
Hair Growth - It would be a lot longer, but I trusted my stylist when she told me to keep shortening it to let the top catch up, and I’m sooo glad I did.
Makeup Skills - I have far better tools, products, and skills where makeup is concerned. It looks much more natural and feminine now.
Laser Hair Removal - Thanks to a year of laser, my facial hair is virtually gone, so no beard shadow any more (and way less makeup). Body hair is at a minimum, too, and gone in some places.
Body - As a result of much of the above, my body has changed a lot. +1.5” bust, -1.75” waist, +2” hips. I don’t have specifics on my arms and thighs, but they’re all down a bit. Overall my weight is about 5-10 lbs lighter now. The boobs look the same, but in the old photo they were just forms, now they’re real and an A+ cup (I still wear a push-up to get me to a B cup, but without the forms I’m much more comfortable now.) My facial features are distinctly more feminine, though I couldn’t really say how… they just… are.
Has it been a long road? Yep. Hard at times? Absolutely. Has it taken a lot of work, learning, and perseverence? Half of a lifetime worth of (re)learning has been crammed into about 14 months… yeah, it’s been a lot of work!
Was it worth it? If you’ve been following my blog, I think you know the answer to that question. ;)
While I’m very very proud of all that I have accomplished, I still like to think of myself as a fairly humble individual. I haven’t done anything that many before me haven’t already done, and I certainly couldn’t have done it without the trail that all of those people have blazed, the work they’ve done, the world they’ve helped to prepare for me… the inspiration they have given me. It is, as always, my sincerest hope that I can be this kind of inspiration to others, that I can help people at the beginning of a transition to see what the light at the end of their own tunnel might look like, and to guide them along the way with the knowledge I’ve gained through my own trials and errors.
So please, keep the feedback, the questions, and the challenges coming in! They give me purpose and they bring me joy, as do all of you…
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
