Husband hasn’t healed so there’s still a lot of responsibility on my shoulders, just as much pressure on him too. I’ve honestly lost a lot of hope and just living day by day the last year or so. [Favorite Characters 15/?] Rattlesnake Jake [Rango, 2011]

“What was that you said…? ‘Pretty soon, no one will believe you even existed.’”

You ever see a character and think “I bet the filmmakers had fun with him.” Good ol’ Jake doesn’t appear till the third act of the film, but when he does he completely steals the show. A rattlesnake outlaw with a Gatling gun in the place of his rattle! It’s so over the top it’s amazing. Plus he has a little hat. We’ve got some really delicious line reads from Bill Nighy, combined with rather compelling facial animation (considering snakes don’t have very flexible faces). And thematically, the fact that he [spoilers] sides with Rango in the end is just the icing on the cake. He’s a villain, sure, but he has standards.
