i long for the day when harry potter is classic literature, so my ridiculously extensive knowledge can be considered intellectual, like it would be if it were shakespeare or dickens, rather than just a little sad

Sitting next to a stranger on the train like...
Have you ever sang happy birthday to a train conductor with all of the passengers on board led by another train conductor singing over the loud speaker at 8 AM? I have. Does this mean my life is turning into a musical and it's socially acceptable to burst into song in public? I hope so.
Today I saw someone jump into a moving train. Don't worry tho, the conductor was there at the door to help her. While I hope that doesn't ever happen to me, I also think it would be awesome. Seriously, how bad ass would you feel after jumping into a moving train?!

Happy Monday!
So I just got rapped to right in the middle of the crowded station. To prove how good he was he decided to freestyle and rap about the people around us. The Black Swan was dropping some pretty sweet rhymes. Didn't buy his CD tho…

First, let me explain to you what the quiet car is on the train (yes, there is such a thing). Each day the conductor announces over the PA the rules/code of conduct for the quiet car: “If you’re sitting in the first car, that’s the quiet car. Please refrain from cell phone use and loud conversations. If you need to make a phone call or have a loud conversation, there are seven other cars for you to use.”
So after a long day, I boarded the train home and sat in the quiet car next to a young man. I got out my ticket and kindle, ready for a relaxing ride home. As I’m sure you can guess, this was not the case. After a few minutes, this guy’s phone rings and he picks up. Ok, maybe he just answered it to let them know he’s on the train and will call them back or whatever. Nope. He decided to have a full-on conversation, and not a word of it in English. Alright, maybe he doesn’t speak English well and didn’t understand the quiet car announcement, I’m not gonna be “that guy” and try to explain to him why he shouldn’t be having a loud phone conversation. So I try to ignore him and concentrate on reading my book, but it’s no use. I end up sitting there for the rest of the ride slowly losing my sanity. However, he was kind enough to finish his conversation about two minutes before I got off at my stop, so that’s something I guess. So the lesson of this story: never forget your earbuds.
You know it's a Monday morning when you're train is sitting in traffic on the way to work. Seriously. We were creeping along at a snails pace and then stopped for like 10+ minutes this morning because of other trains on the track that we're backed up from earlier delays. I thought I was avoiding traffic jams by taking the train… nope.
It's hard enough to remember changing out your monthly pass on the first of each month, but trying to remember on a MONDAY after a 4 DAY WEEKEND is actually impossible. So whether it was intentional or not, thank you MBTA conductors for cutting me some slack today… and for last month, cuz it totally happened last month too.
