Kanda and Allen are so cool â„
While I personally like NaminĂ© the best out of the girls and actually like her with Riku, I guess I can see how you might feel this way. It did seem maybe a little baby bit shoehorned in at the end there. Besides, we all know Rikuâs one true love is Sora.
So about the lyrics of âChikaiâ and the ending scene on the beach...
As the focus shifts onto Riku and the camera starts zooming in on his face while he walks forward a bit and looks at Sora and Kairi on the paopu fruit tree:
æŹćœă«ăăăȘç§ă§ăăăăź (Hontou ni konna watashi de mo ii no) âAm I really okay like this?â Starts to play. And as the camera shifts to the shot of Sora and Kairi on the tree and starts zooming in the lyric ăăăăăăź (Nee, ii no) (Hey, am I?â) plays.
Then, as the camera zooms in some more:
ăăăŸăæćŸ ăăăȘăă§ă»ăăă (Anmari kitai sasenaide hoshii yo) (I donât want you to get my hopes up) plays and as the camera focuses on Sora and Kairiâs hands, the yo fades out and you can hear Utadaâs âAhhâ begin as the next verse of the song starts and the scene shifts its focus (as in POV) from Rikuâs POV to Sora and Kairiâs (Sora squeezing Kairiâs hand) and then them looking at each other. The framing of this - the way the camera focuses on Riku and then the way the camera focuses on Sora and Kairi from Rikuâs POV with those lyrics playing in the backgroundâŠThe look on Rikuâs face⊠I just, wow! This was definitely intentional and it is showing a lot. (If it wasnât intentional, Iâll eat my hat!) And my heart is breaking for Riku! T-T I know some fans may try and bring up the fact that watashi gets used here (so we should assume that the POV of the lyric is from a woman/girlâs POV), but it is a gender neutral form of âIâ and was likely chosen because it fits the tempo and beat of the song better than boku or ore (which is what Sora and Riku actually use in game) would. Plus, these lyrics are internal monologue, specifically uncertain internal thoughts. So the use of watashi which doesnât hold the same level of confidence or assertiveness as ore does, works well here. But yeahâŠjustâŠwatch me cry all of my tears⊠TT0TT
I saw someone mention that the charm was a crown, nah thatâs a Paopu fruit.
Idk man but Soriku fans donât dislike Kairi and Sokai because they get in the way of our ship. We donât like them because Kairi has been done a huge disservice and has had almost no development in all of the games. She has few discernible character traits because she only exists to serve as Soraâs love interest. Iâm not just mad about Soriku not happening, because I never expected it to happen. Iâm mad that the Destiny Trio was not given the same treatment as the other trios. Iâm mad about the shoddy writing of Kairi and Sokai. There is a small part of me that wanted Sokai to be done and done well (it was my first ship ever after all), but instead of showing me how much Sora and Kairi care for each other, they just told me that they do. I canât root for that. If Square spent half as much time developing Sokai as they did Soriku, I would like the ship. (I mean, I ship Akuroku and Rokushi đ€·ââïž). But they didnât. And Iâm sorry that Sokai fans have to deal with tags filled with hate, but if you arenât criticizing the way that the ship has been treated in canon⊠youâre blindly accepting the heteronormativity and mistreatment of Kairi and I just⊠frankly canât feel that bad about it.
(And if you really think that we just ship Soriku because itâs gayâŠjust try to tell me Sokai had more development than Soriku. I dare you đ€·ââïž)
Remember when Soraâs and Rikuâs hearts were so in tune that they created a love song together and Mickey shipped them harder than any of us?
Mickey: That was amazing! What happened? Â
Riku: SoraâŠ
Mickey: Sora? Funny. Just hearing that name kinda makes me wanna smile. Â
Riku: Yeah. Thatâs how he is. Â
Mickey: Whaddaya know? Riku and Sora. The Sound Ideas you two set free, joined together. And when they did, they made a great and powerful harmony.Â
Riku: Sora can find the brightest part of anything. And pull off miracles like thereâs nothing to it. Itâs pretty hard not to smile around him.Â
Mickey: Wow. No wonder the music sounded like so much fun. But I bet heâs got you to thank for that. Having such a good friend means he could really enjoy it.Â
Riku: Huh? Â
Mickey:Â Itâs like each of you is holding onto a little part of the other. Your hearts are always in tune, so theyâre free to sing!
do you think venum rex is gonna be more popular than ff15 ?
Being completely honest, I do not know.
As a fan of the franchise in general, I followed the work of Nomura with Final Fantasy Versus XIII very closely for just over 6 years. I absorbed like a sponge all the information I could (interviews, reviews in magazines and others).
I fell in love with each of the trailers of the game to the point that, if I see one to this day, I think: âwhere the hell was all this?!â.
In fact, with the commotion of the secret ending of KH3 and Verum Rex, you can notice without looking too much that the old trailers of Versus XIII are being filled with comments from fans and users about the fact. It `s hilarious.
Letâs just recap a little:
Since Nomura was removed from Versus XIII in 2012 (leaving Tabata as director and renaming the game as FFXV) he did not re-draw anything related to FFXV. That until November of 2017 when he drew Noctis for Dissidia NT. 5 years passed.
Redesigned Riku to look like Noctis.
He chose Ray Chase (the actor who gives his voice to Noctis) to be the Master of Masters.
He named an entire original world in KH3 âScala ad Caelumâ.
He gave Sora the movements planned for Noctis in Versus XIII.
He made public his disdain to the DLC and claimed that he made COMPLETE games.
He did not put any Final Fantasy character (sacrificing with this the appearance of characters dear to him, such as Cloud, Squall, Tifa, Lightning, etc.), but instead made a kind of tribute to Versus XIII through Verum Rex.
The Verum Rex girl is undeniably a tribute to Stella.Â
Verum Rex, by the way, means in Latin âTrue Kingâ and the protagonist is called Yozora (Noctis Caelum in Latin, itâs hilarious the obviousness of this, my God).
Halfway through the secret ending of KH3 it is impossible to listen to the background melody and Yozoraâs pensive attitude⊠and not remember Insomnia, Somnus and Prince Noctis of Versus XIII.
Is this being mean? His Magnum Opus artistic and creative(Final Fantasy Versus XIII) was murdered by Square Enix executives mercilessly.
I watch the Verum Rex commercial and then the secret ending of KH3 and I can only think (as an artist) how frustrating it must be to not finish something you loved so much.
I know that Final Fantasy XV is not a bad game (do not blame Tabata either, he did what he could in a too short time range), but itâs definitely not what Nomura dreamed it would be.
I still want to know what Nomura wanted to convey with the lyrics of Somnus (and why the hell I never saw it in FFXV). I still want to see the Noctis he imagined for his game.
We could expect some of that in Verum Rex, maybe, but honestly, I do not know if itâs enough (both for him and the fans).
There is an undeniable conclusion to all this: Nomura REALLY wished to do Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
Verum Rex is a kind of tribute (and protest) to Versus XIII.
Nomura wants FF Versus XIII, fans want FF Versus XIII. Everyone knows it (Square Enix included) ⊠thatâs why there is so much consternation and excitement around the subject.
Tetsuya Nomura is like the diva drama queen of the Square Enix and honestly ⊠I love him for that. C:

You know, thatâs really hard on your knees. Totally impractical, they all do it.
Sora is the light that cuts through the darkness.
