He paused for a moment, then fought his grin, playing inattentive. "Yes, my dear?"
Geralt stepped forward, nearly stalking toward him. He held an authoritative stance, his movements one of purpose. Jaskier paused, his eyes locked onto amber.
Then, in a blink of an eye–just a fast movement that left Jaskier exhale roughly–Jaskier was wrapped by the wrist and pulled back from the mirror. He was left being face-to-face with the Witcher who was staring at his face intensely, his eyes flickering across every feature as if he couldn't decide which one to dedicate his full attention toward.
Geralt raised his hand in a certain movement, his fingers touching Jaskier's jaw where the rough facial hair was. "Don't shave it," he said, his voice that familiar gravely tone from vocal cords destroyed long ago.

Geralt had thought about the kiss for three months.
Not constantly. He had contracts to finish, monsters to track and roads to travel, but Jaskier found his way into everything between. A badly played lute made Geralt wonder what insult he would have muttered into his ale; an offensively purple coat in a merchant's window made him imagine Jaskier insisting it was fashionable; sometimes Geralt would see something beautiful along the road and turn instinctively, already expecting a comment from beside him before remembering there was nobody there.
At night, there was nothing to distract him from remembering their last evening together.
They'd known they had to part in the morning. Jaskier had commitments south while Geralt's contracts were pulling him north, and neither had made much of it because they'd done this before.
They always found each other again.

Not until they have a second dragon. They parade around their more ‘exotic monsters’ for their guests, but they only make you fight if they’re willing to let you die. You likely won’t have to put up with that unless they catch another dragon.” They shouldn’t have even been able to catch him. Dragons were always careful to never be seen, and never be caught. He’d been taught from hatching that he was to run away from fights, and never engage. There weren’t enough dragons left for him to be getting caught up in any battles.

Geralt didn't see the blade.
He only heard Jaskier shout his name before two hands struck his chest and sent him stumbling sideways. By the time he turned, the blade was already buried beneath Jaskier's ribs.
For one impossible second, they simply stared at each other.
