@randommagicitem I'm with you. Plot twist: in each book the fwb sex always ends up saving the day. Book 1: blowing the jester behind the tapestry makes him moan so loudly the evil Duke thinks the castle is haunted and he flees, abandoning his plan to kidnap the princess. Book 2: the castle guard is railing our main character over a battlement and she knocks loose a stone that crushes the helmet of the evil knight that's about to kill the princess' love interest

Book 3: the princess' love interest wants to fight an ill-advised duel with a visiting prince, but he can't find his sword because our main character is bouncing on the squire sexy style (there's a sheathing the sword joke here somewhere) and a diplomatic incident is avoided.

Aromantic sex saves the day always.

Just read the anon talking about the lady in waiting being fwb with the jester and I can't tell you how much I want an entire book series of our main character dealing with exhausting alloromantic drama from the princess while she platonically sleeps her way through the castle (jester, guard, squire of the 'prince charming' character, etc)
