Glorfindel looked down at Aredhel as her coffin passed him by. All that she was, all that she did and loved and wished for, was going into the earth. She would never know who had broken himself for nine years searching for her. Whose own fea was darkened every passing day that he did not find her. No one had told him. No one dared venture out to find him, and certainly not now, lest they end up in the earth as well. Glorfindel couldn’t believe he had never realized.
