Exploration of the Skyscraper
Episode 6 was frustrating... And probably the most from New Era (spoilers ahead)
I actually liked the last episodes so far. The third was a bit long and fastidious, but they are interesting elements. Here, I liked the 6th episode for a couple of things but all these things always appear as some kind of cheap consolation. The little exploration of the building. It was exciting, there could have been items to find in the background just like in the first episodes of the Origins. We could have investigated Edgar's version of the facts when he said other humans were there before going outside. But no, we just have to click on sentences at least 50-90 times before going to the next background without having anything consistent to analyse. The introduction of a new character, a human. It gave the opportunity to make the Guardian remind of her arrival in Eldarya, question if she want to go home or not. It gave the opportunity to have Mathieu's intriguing perspective. It gave the opportunity to see Huang Hua's Guard is not as benevolent as we may have thought. This part was cool. But this is where it starts to get disappointing. Lance and Nevra's considerations of Edgar did not extend to the thought to the Guardian there might be other rooted problems she ignores regarding the Guard (like the bullet found in a companion? Some humans may be not as trustworthy as we may think when there are actually found). Adding to the fact Edgar's story was never questionned, probably because it was the truth, but the characters are not that knowledgeable. Reported speech is no fun, except when it is questioned. It is not. They just naivily believe him, while they could have doubted him for sure (which would have been then reasonable ground to not bringing back to Eel). He is found alone, cold for how many days (?), with little supplies. He says his fellow humans left without him (just like that?). He could have been manipulated by the Kistune. After all, they may have brutally killed his fellow humans in front of him. Or Kitsune could have enchanted him, or trade food with him in order for him to be a spy and to enchant Koori with an item so she would go back to Tenjin. The Kitsune's attack. Yes! Finally some action! But then they go inside and it is like nothing happened. Apparently they are waiting for Nevra and Mathieu but they are not coming back. And then we find them, and they tell us what happenned. Again, reported speech is no fun. In the Origins we were able to have other characters' perspective. It could have been so funny to see Mathieu trying to be discreet but brilliantly failling from Nevra's point of view. Plus we could have had some suspense ... Leiftan... Leiftan makes no sense. We hardly see him, we get the link but we don't get any true interaction, like any effect, like a black background for example. What could have been like a way to support us in tough moments, we are just subject to it like a penance or plot solution (when they can't find Nevra, Lance and Leiftan but the Guardian actually find them in less than a second). Because when Leiftan does arrive when the Guardian is not feeling good, nothing happens. He is just standing there. And when it is supposed to have some kind of importance, especially when the Guardian has troubles with controlling her powers in a life matter situation and eventually ask Leiftan again to train her, he get pissed ? Where did the emotional link go ? What happened to the life changing moment Leiftan witnesses her almost certain "death" on the ship ? Edgar's death. It liked it, I thought it would bring stakes to a story which so far gathers invincible characters. But two illustrations and none about a moment that is supposed to be important for the Guardian's development. The Guardian is supposed to feel horrible. She promised she would protect him, this could have had a huge impact on her behaviour. And when, at the end, her supposed love interest comes to her, telling her she was amazing in this mission, she just thinks about her romantic feelings (?!). Surely she could have come to this conclusion as the love interest might have consolated her, in this
intimat emoment when she feels like a failure even though she found herself and got her powers back. But nope. There are other things I did not mention, but these are the leading points I had in mind. I truly hope others liked this episode though. Let's hope for a good seventh episode now!
It came to me few days ago: I would faint if instead of Mathieu we got Lysander*who walked into Lalaland (Eldarya) while inspecting field on his farmland. It’s not like MCL crew is missing him (bf, brother, sister in law, Candy), so I’d gladly welcome him. And plp in Beemoov would get their human in fantasy game. Beemoov, why?
Was he created by someone who is now Beemoov’s enemy? Why took away a well liked character? :(
*Obv, Kentin or Armin would work too. Hell, ARMIN- would be a PERFECT choice if they wanted a funny, easy-going LI. I know that Mahtieu probably is connected with major plot in season 2, but let’s be honest. Writing is obv not the most important thing in Eldarya game, they could have done it differently.

Episode 6... (Lance Route)
*Inside the Earth hotel/building in Genkaku*
Nevra: We should start exploring the higher floors if we want to find anything that could be important.
Mathieu: Yea, good idea! We can take the elevators, they're always fun to ride!
Lance:...
Lance: *Remembers last time he was on an elevator*
Lance: *Remembers how he nearly died and how he was so scared that even Guardienne could see his fear*
Guardienne: *Remembers the same thing as Lance*
Guardienne and Lance: NO ELEVATORS!!!
(This could definitely be arranged to fit any of the routes that went on the elevator lol)
Why do I have this strange feeling (according to the episode 6 title 'Revenge of the King') that something is going to happen to our boat?
What a matching set, but IN CANDY PINK ... WHYYYY?!
Lance's jealous reaction when he learns Leiftan and Guardian are emotionally connected is so funny
"Lance frowned and rubbed his chin, puzzled" Could be a sign of jealousy. Or could be: "HMMMMM what if she likes me only because Leiftan does ??????!!!"
the line appears to have been changed
"She even had feelings for him, but I don't think his feelings for her went that far"
I only want one thing from the new episode and I know I won’t get it but it would be so funny. So since Koori’s ex is propably a shity person and a misogynist he could say something like women belong in kitchen or something like that. So our Gardienne goes to the kitchen and returns with a frying pan to knock him out full on Rapunzel (or Lance if you wish) style and then she has a cute bonding moment with Lance over that. I could probably even forgive Lance killing Valk bc this would be *chef kiss*.
THEORY TIME !
After redoing TO episodes, I realised we knew the bad guy pretty quickly from the beginning. But what about TNE ? I was redoing the fourth TNE episode, and it’s when it hit me. Let’s support for one second Koori caused the avalanche which hit her city and that she might be the reason of Eldarya and Earth fusion. First hint: She has the freaking power to create illusions. And this, this is the N°1 power among bad guys (Yvoni's approval here). Plus, there is no way we make sparkles with our hands and she is at our level as we say at the beginning of ep 4. She is a Princess and was raised as such as she pretends. She must be way more powerful than us right now, and if she can make illusions, then we have no idea what her true powers are. Second hint: She was with us every time companions attacked the team. But that could be just a coïncidence. Not sure she would have wanted the Sersea to kill us. Third hint: Her past (which everyone skipped because Lance's abs are way more interesting I know you know). As Jamon told us in Ep 3, anger and sadness are bad advisers and Koori has both: She has been played by the man she loved. She has lost her heritage, her place in society. She is fuming. And what does she do ? She runs away during an avalanche ?! HOW? I mean HOW as a member of the royal family, can you run away while your people are hit by an avalanche? Does she care about her people ? and well what a coincidence an avalanche, isn't it ? She caused it. And she was so vengeful while creating the avalanche she did not even care putting her people in danger. Fourth hint: The reason of the occurence of Earth Trash. During ep 4 she says something really interesting: a incredibly powerful spell could cause such a fusion. Still she says such a spell would not have gone unnoticed by the Guard. But well, if she can create illusions that settles it, right ? The hypothesis fairies created a portal to use Eldarya as a trash bin instead of colonising it seems a bit out of place. I believe Koori caused the fusion, not voluntarily tho. But humans will take this at their advantage no doubt. So, what do you think ? Do you think Koori is still genuine ? Did I go too far ?
This is a very good theory!
You make a great point with everything you've said so far, and it would be very interesting to see a female take the role of villain this time.
The idea about the trash in the sea is a bit unlikely in a way because Koori probably hasn't been to Earth (but to be fair, I don't think she ever said she hasn't been there?) but if Mathieu has described trash from Earth to her, or she's seen a bit before because of the world merging, then it's possible that she could have replicated it.
You're theory does make me consider the fact that Koori may be strong enough to disguise anything that could be concerning for the guard, as well. If there's any spells or rituals being performed that could alert the guard, Koori could use her illusion abilities to block any alarms that could notify the guard that something dangerous is going on.
We truly have no idea of how powerful Koori actually is either. We know Huang Hua has banned her from using her powers in training (and probably within the guard, who knows, maybe she hurt someone and it was passed off as an accident?) and in episode 4 we observed her using mind control (it must have been mind control of some sort, not just illusions) to make the creatures that attacked the ship jump off the ship's mast, so knowing that, we can only assume that she's MUCH more powerful than she seems. To add onto that, no one ever seems to mention her abilities. Did everyone else know she could influence creatures like that? Why wasn't Guardienne questioning Koori's ability to basically control the minds of the creatures attacking the ship? Then when the Sersea attacked, why didn't she do something like that to stop it (although, to be fair I do believe she was injured, but I think she was still conscious)? This hidden strength could definitely be a concern and possible red flag in the future to hint at her being the villain of ANE.
It's still very early to know for sure who will be ANE's villain, but I do think Koori is hiding a lot of things now and shouldn't be overlooked.
Thank you <3 I hadn't thought about it more than that. Emphasizing Koori's ability to control minds and her ban like you did is a great point. With the face of the Gankaku king shouting bad guy vibes, it would not be surprising if they were of the same calibre. If one has an entire kingdom to support him, he seems bound to be more threatening, yet, it would not be the first time in Eldarya narration a villain is introduced in order to introduce another one more powerful later on (hello Naytili). It is very interesting to think Koori would have caused the fusion between the earth and Eldarya on purpose. At the beginning I thought if she were the true villain of the story, the fusion might have been a conséquence of a powerful spell of mind control or illusion Koori has initiated (maybe still going) that distords reality to its core. But she might as well caused it indeed. It is true it is still early to tell. Maybe Koori has been manipulated by the Genkaku king to join the Guard. Maybe Adalric is the true Villain of the stories (just a joke). Maybe she is hiding things for good genuine reasons. However, there is increasing evidence to suggest that this is not necessarily the case. Let's see what Episode 5 has to offer for now.
I have to admit seeing the Genkaku king (his face and his damn scar ?!) makes me rather uncertain about the quality of the upcoming episode. Unless the dialogues are especially well written, we are still going to confront an established misogynist pretty much "unequipped" with the set of characters we have here (Cameria please come back, just a sec). All I can hope for in this episode is to finally see Leiftan taking part in the action and truly makes the wait after 4 episodes worth it. Plus, a discussion between Lance and the king since the latter might be close to what Lance was in season 1.
