He might have told Hokuto such, to tell him what Hokuto would do to him if given the chance, but he didn’t think that his junior would bring that incident back. Had he underestimated his own pupil’s ability to counterattack?
It’d been days since he’d read the reply, but Rei couldn’t find the right words, nor the right mindset, to give his response. What kind of return favor would Hokuto want from him? A kiss? Rei couldn’t picture Hokuto wanting a kiss from him, hence his concerns in regards to Hokuto’s intention. It couldn’t be anything malicious, could it?
Rei had tried to think of a proper answer, but nothing came to him. Could he get himself out of having to face the consequences of his mistake? After all, it wasn’t just any kiss; it was Hokuto’s first.
Unfortunately, Rei had gotten himself busy in the following days that he’d forgotten about replying to Hokuto. Until now…
It was his day-off, but Rei had nowhere else to be later that night, and he wasn’t expecting any visitors nor deliveries either, hence his surprise at the doorbell. Who could possibly that possibly be?
What was he doing here? Why would he be here?? Could it be…!
After nearly crying out upon seeing Hokuto outside the door, Rei fumbled with the doorknob, opening it after some failed attempts with that simple action. “Ah, Hidaka-kun? What…brings you here?” Act normal, act normal…
Hokuto wasn’t expecting much of an answer, considering that what he had written was probably disrespectful. It was a bold comment, even for him.
As he was about to turn on his heel and try again another day, he heard the creaking of the door, which brought him to a stop as he looked beyond the doorway.
What awaits him behind that door was a dark figure. The hallway wasn’t really brightly lit, the hallway of their apartments instead shone inside the doorway, illuminating the figure with his signature rubelite hues.
The idol tried to speak but found himself wordless upon meeting with the other’s eyes. He had everything planned out. It was to simply apologise for the rash and blunt comment swiftly, like how his grandmother had always taught him. Instead, his own sense of awkwardness had brought his plans to a halt, which he hated when his flow is disturbed.
Swallowing a non-existent lump that lingered in his throat, he bowed his head.
“I am sorry if it that text you made you... uncomfortable.” He murmured, keeping his eyes on the other’s feet in an attempt to avoid the gaze of Sakuma.
Even though that was his first kiss, he had to admit it was anything but bad.
