“I should be the one asking YOU that.”, Aomine raised an eyebrow. “You don’t look sick, so I want an explanation.”
He stepped into the apartment, bypassing Kise skillfully. So big, just like he had imagined it. Hadn’t been here before. He liked it.
His bag dropped onto the floor and he removed his shoes. He threw his jacket over his bag, turning to face Kise.
“And since I’m here, I’ll stay. I’m bored anyway, so do something. Also, I’m thirsty.”
His deep blue eyes scanned Kise’s figure. Hm.. he really didn’t seem sick at all. But, he still seemed a bit off. Not feeling well or something. Well, he’d get to the bottom of it soon.
And he’d try to make it better.
Even if he wasn’t the best at these kind of things.
Kise needed to look positive again. He didn’t like the look in his eyes right now. Even if they weren’t playing right now… it still seemed off.
His left foot casually scratched his right one, his hands were in his pockets and he looked expectantly at the blonde. “Well?”
“…Oh yes, please, do come in. Nope, not intruding at all…” He murmured sarcastically under his breath, seemingly speaking only to the door he closed behind him.
The fierceness in Aomine’s eyes and his tone caught his attention immediately. That look made him feel…cornered? Guilty? Nervous? It was a look you definitely couldn’t lie to without suffering the consequences, that was for sure.
He chuckled and leveled Aomine with an nonchalant grin, running a hand through his hair and hoping he had no trace of bedhead.
“Was Aominecchi…worried about me?”
It was only meant to be a quip, but he could secretly have some hope, right?
Side-stepping the taller boy, he wordlessly and begrudgingly went towards the kitchen, complying to Aomine’s whims. Really, that guy knew how to feel at home anywhere, didn’t he? Not that he minded. Not that he would outwardly show how…happy he is to see Aomine here, either.
“Tch, I have to be the water boy even on my fake sick day?! You have some nerve, Aominecchi.”
He shook his head and smirked, offering Aomine a glance.
“Is tea fine? We also have soda, coffee, hot chocolate…” He quirked an eyebrow, sneaking one more glance at Aomine, before diverting his gaze again. He wondered if that one would go over Aomine’s head.
He also did well to dodge the question, busying himself in the kitchen, peaking inside the fridge to check if there was still a can of Pocari left. There was.
“Eh, I hope Akashicchi didn’t just send you here to check on me…That could be bad, huh…”
Worried?
"Don't get any ideas, I'm not worried. It's only annoyingly silent without you.", he followed the other with his eyes, before he walked into the kitchen as well. "And then Midorima started ranting about some shit, I swear he's making less sense than Satsuki. Ugh."
Whenever Midorima started rambling about anything other than basketball, everything that left his mouth seemed to become nonsense. Especially things about fate and astrology. Aomine really couldn't get along with this guy.
It didn't get past him, that Kise was avoiding the topic on purpose, though. Well, then..
"Hot chocolate is fine.", he sat down on the table in the middle of the kitchen, crossing his legs and waiting. The other's complaints were ignored. What nerve to complain about being the 'water boy', after probably not doing anything all day long..
Maybe it was, because he didn't have anything else to do, but his eyes never left Kise - watched his every move, how he moved around the counter, opened the fridge, bending over to check something. How his butt-
...
Uhm.
"No, I came to scold you. But first, I want an excuse. It better be a good one.", to underline those words, he let some annoyance show up in his eyes and furrowed his brows. If he'd lie, Aomine would see right through it.
