The Cosmic World of Lana Del ReyĀ .Ėļ½”ā ą¼ .Ėļ½”ā an astrological analysis of her career
In Jyotish, the Dasas mark significant periods of oneās life and reveal the nature of our different āerasā. For an artist, this manifests as their different visual and / or sonic eras. The Dasas are planetary periods one undergoes and are sometimes confused with planetary transits. Transits are reflections of what is currently going on in the Cosmos and how this will affect the collective. Planetary periods, or Dasas, are independent of what is going on with the planets above in any given moment in time and are different for each individual. Before we incarnate in our bodies and forms, we choose the different Dasas we will be undergoing throughout our lives and in what order. The Dasas are highly and deeply reflective of our lifeās ātimingā, so that an artistās sonic and visual choices are marked by the Dasas that they are currently undergoing.
Often, what we naturally gravitate towards in terms of other peopleās creations reflect the celestial bodies. The stylistic, visual, or sonic choices we make are rarely random but a mirror of recurrent themes in a (planetary) period of our lives. Artists are good astrological subjects because they have āhigher antennasā and produce bodies of work that reflect the celestial bodies. In Jyotish, the word Graha is used instead of the word planet. Graha means āto seizeā, āto grabā, or to āholdā. We are all deeply influenced by the celestial bodies, the only difference is that the grip the Grahas have on artists are easier to notice because their creations reflect this and are projected towards and shared with the collective. What moves them to create is not random but a product of a well-organized cosmic structure that feels as though it has a will of its own. Oneās Sun, Moon, ascendant, and other important placements are also part of this structure. However, they are more stable and can be seen throughout the career of an artist in subtle ways. The Dasas are better at marking different creative periods in oneās life.
