There is this one interview where everyone thinks (at least all who believe in Lourry) that Harry is wearing a butt plug and Louis is playing with it. i hope this isn't super weird but i found your blog through a post about ageism in fandom spaces and i think its really, really cool that in your 50s and still engaged with your fandoms and passions. i'm 33 and i have so much anxiety about aging and feeling like every year it gets weirder to still love these things, but i've had the same nerdy interests my whole life. i've struggled with this ever since i turned 25. idk if i'll ever get past the anxiety but seeing people like you helps a lot.

Honestly, fandom has been life changing for me in terms of realizing that being passionate about “nerdy/childish/weird” things is part of what makes my life really good. And I think the older you get, the less you actually care about what other people think.

I spent way too many years twisting myself into someone I wasn’t in order to fit in or be liked. I’m more “me” in my 50s than I’ve ever been.

People in their teens, twenties, even thirties, so often have no real concept of how freeing it is to just be who you are. I know I didn’t. I was always trying to be acceptable and palatable for everyone else.

Life is too short. Indulge in your passions and hyper-fixations. Fun isn’t only for young people. And who says “young” ends at twenty-five? My life has gotten exponentially better as I’ve aged.

Was just reading some of the anons who are stressed about potentially seeing Z at a show, like the summerfest anon, so I wanted to tell a positive story that’s related to “sightings.”

At this last AFHF during one of the afternoon sets I got this giant buffalo chicken quesadilla from a food truck. I went and sat on this grassy hill to eat it and I was by myself so I was fully going to town, like not eating in a dignified way whatsoever. Halfway through I got a weird feeling and looked to my right and Oli was just sitting there. I was like oh what the heck. I know Oli just wants to live life so I fully ignored him and ate my quesadilla as messy as possible so he would feel anonymous and safe lol

Point being you might have a positive experience vs a negative!! And it’s very doable to just be in your own little world
