“my child is completely fine” your child can’t read a sex scene in a Bridgerton book without full body sobbing
Turns out it’s just any romance novel sex scene besties

I hate being asked what my goal in life is…. like.. idk…?? I want to have my own kitchen… and I want to know every poem by heart… and uhh.. I want to be kissed in the rain … etc etc .. my heart is very little and I dont want it to break
my kink is melodramatic declarations of love from 19th century novels
'it's only embarrassing if you decide it is' as a philosophy has literally changed my life
“Dear Baby, I hope someday somebody wants to hold you for 20 minutes straight and that’s all they do. They don’t pull away. They don’t look at your face. They don’t try to kiss you. All they do is wrap you up in their arms and hold on tight, without an ounce of selfishness to it.”
— Waitress (2007)
I don’t get how people can read that New York Post article about a study showing men “have better sex” with “emotionally unstable women” and make jokes to the effect of “that’s why I’ll never get therapy” or “that’s why men love crazy girls”. Don’t you get it? Men THINK they have better sex with women who suffer from mental illnesses, trauma, depression and other forms of “emotional instability” because men are obsessed with domination, violence and their own pleasure and seek out women who are more easy to coerce, women without boundaries, women who accept pain and who these men can hurt and play around with and abuse and toss as garbage much more easily. It’s really not funny. It’s not something that makes these women (and I’m one of them) more cool or desirable. It’s all about men exploiting and using women. It’s all about degradation and humiliation. Men hate us and use us as tools and they prefer a tool that accepts anything or who won’t make any resistance. That’s what it’s about.
exactly, it’s another iteration of a manic pixie dream girl trope. a woman you can detach from and simplify: she is chaotic. I lose my mind every time I hear a man say “girls with daddy issues are so hot,” they don’t care about your wellbeing at ALL and sure as hell won’t help you heal. so much of this stems from degradation porn + media portraying sexy women as unstable and unpredictable. look at every action movie— women are either abused, obviously ill or both.
