texts with ex-bf!luke castellan
he wants you back, but you don't. so he moves on... well at least tries to
a/n: might be an unpopular, controversial opinion but i feel bad for zonia :/// deez people gotta stop dragging other people into their mess 😭
i won’t cry if a boy rejects me or doesn’t show any interest in me, but when you tell me fake eyelashes are made out of ferrets? i’ll bawl my fucking eyes out.
hmmmm actually i think he'd be both. but to be specific i think; exbf!luke would be an ass guy, bf!luke is a tits guy (⸝⸝๑﹏๑⸝⸝) idk if it makes sense but it soo fits their personalities
exbf!luke would slap it when you walk pass him (when you two are alone ofc) but when there's people around and your back is facing him, TRUST his eyes are locked in that bottom (perv!)
bf!luke on the other hand would use them a stress balls, and mind you that man is ALWAYS STRESSED so his hands are oractically glued on them. he'd also use them as pillows, either face buried or like just head resting on them #needhim (づ_ど)
would daddy hamilton approve of reader 🤔 luke wouldn’t give a fuck anyway if he didn’t he’s still gonna eat his dinner 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ (iykyk)
first off can he stop making that hand pose cause its making me feel some things i shouldn't be feeling likeeee
to answer the question, as deadbeat as hermes is—he's very happy for luke. he doesn't think much of whether he approves of reader or not cause he knows he doesn't get to have a say (he definitely approves of her) but i feel like he really likes how reader is changing luke for the better.
since the gods are all knowing, he definitely overhears some of the conversations luke and reader shares. and sometime he giggles to himself whenever reader tries to push luke to talk to his dad lol he gets giddy af. but of course luke won't reach out cause he's #1 hermes hater wbk.
but hermes is just happy that luke now thinks less of how much he hates his dad and more of how much he loves reader (papa hamilton thinks its a win for him in a way)

“why are we even here?” luke grumbles, complaining from behind you. “you know i don’t believe in this stuff.”
“oh, come on,” you shoot him a look. “you’ve been grumbling for the past hour! you act like you’re too cool to care."
“i am too cool,” he mutters, sticking his hands in his pockets. “this is a waste of time. a waste of—”
“of your precious drachma?” you tease, nudging his shoulder.
his mouth drops, as if you slapped him right then and there, “of course it’s precious! i earned it fair and square,” he snaps, only half-serious.
“oh please. you mean you found it in between the couch cushions,” you retort, smirking.
“well— that’s beside the point!” he huffs.
you cut him off with the smoking gun of a question, “don’t you want to know what the future holds for us?”
he paused, then opens his mouth to argue but sighs instead, clearly defeated. “fine.”
you reach the cave draped in purple satin cloth, the crooked greek letters above spelling the future is here. luke lets out a quiet scoff.
“what? you find it funny?” you pout, dropping your hand from his grip.
he grabs it back too quick before you can even take another step. “alright, i’m sorry. maybe i should be more open-minded about this.” he straightens up, trying to look serious. “shall we go in?”
your smile grows, and that alone makes him feel content with his decision.
as the two of you step inside, the air grows colder. a row of lit candles lines the path, their flames flickering in the stillness. the silence makes everything feel heavier, more eerie.
“hello! we’re here for—”
“welcome,” a faint voice interrupts from deeper inside the cave, near a glowing crystal ball. “are you ready to see the future?”
luke stays quiet, he sees his future every day. and she’s standing right beside him, holding his hand.
“yes,” you answer enthusiastically.
an older woman came out from the void, she was wearing a long black dress, head covered with a cloth as dark as the surroundings, “two drachmas.” she whispered, “two drachmas for every read.”
hands deep in your pocket, your hand could only feel one drachma, “i only have one, though…” looking over at luke who’s already reaching for one in his pocket.
“just one,” he raised the coin, holding it between his thumb and index finger, like some magician holding a magic card.
“can we please…”
“your charmspeak won’t work here my girl,” the old woman uttered, “two drachmas or get the hell out of here.”
eyes full of eagerness doesn’t hesitate to give you his as he presses the coin onto your palm. “but—”
“it’s fine,” he shrugs. “we’re spending the future together anyway. might as well see it from your point of view.” he smiles, patting your head lightly. “it’ll probably look better. you see the world through a prettier lens.”
your heart swells at the gesture. you take his drachma and squeeze his hand three times before handing both coins to the woman, “here.” you softly said, heart slowly racing from nerves.
the woman inspects and wipes the drachmas using her layered robes before sliding open a small iron safe beside her chair. the coins clink as she drops them in, then shuts it with a loud, deliberate click.
she rolls her shoulders, cracks her knuckles, and begins hovering her hands over the glowing crystal ball. the light inside it swirls faintly, like mist being stirred by an invisible spoon. with every slow movement of her fingers, the glow grows brighter, humming softly.
“what aspect do you want to see??”
luke eyes the woman suspiciously. “the reading costs two drachmas and you could only read a certain aspect?” he snickers.
“are you just here to complain?” the woman hisses. “fortune telling is work. it would cost ten drachmas to get a full reading. one you can’t afford, obviously.” she eyes you both. “your doubt is sending some negative energy over here.”
you look at luke, gently squeezing his hand to reassure him. “i want to know what my future looks like when it comes to love… and the life i’ll have—build with it.”
the woman’s expression shifts at once. the sharpness leaves her eyes, replaced by a quiet focus. she nods and lowers her hands closer to the crystal ball.
the glow inside responds immediately, brightening until the small tent is washed in pale, silvery light. the air grows warm and heavy, like the moment before rain falls.
“love,” she repeats softly. “that is never a simple path.”
the mist inside the orb begins to curl and move on its own, forming shapes that almost look familiar before melting away again.
“i see happiness,” she murmurs, which made your heart a little calmer. “love filled with so much laughter. the kind that fills rooms and one that makes a place feel lived in.”
luke’s doubt quietly fades beside you, he knew your life together would be filled with nothing but joy.
“i see arguments too, loud ones. stubbornness clashing against stubbornness. doors being shut a little too hard. words said in anger and regretted in silence.”
you feel luke shift slightly beside you, his hold of your hand tightening by the minute.
“but i also see hands reaching for each other in the dark. with apologies that don’t need words. there is a bond that refuses to loosen, no matter how hard it is pulled.”
the mist brightens, and this time the shapes form more clearly—two figures standing side by side, always close, always returning to each other.
her voice lowers, “i see a home. not grand, but full. full of noise. with small footsteps running across floors, tiny hands tugging at clothes, and voices calling out for attention.”
your breath hitches, you looked over at luke with hopeful eyes. there it was, the confirmation that you two will begin a life with each other, a home with just you and the kids you will love with all your heart..
“i see you holding a child, then another.” she looks over at you, “exhaustion fills your eyes, but the joyand contentment that outweighs it.” she squints her eyes over at the ball, “ou will build a a family not just from love, but from effort and choice. from choosing to stay despite how rocky the path is.”
thumb caressing over your hand, luke stares at you intensely—he has been looking at you this whole time, just imagining how life with you would be. he was so deep in his mind when he heard the next words escape the woman’s mouth.
“however… i am not seeing him…” she mutters, looking over at luke. it was the first time he stops staring at you as he looked straight to the woman’s eyes.
confused, you ask, “what do you mean you don’t see him?” looking over at luke, only to see anger slowly build up from within him.
her eyes narrow as the light flickers, “i don’t see his face… though i see a boy with dark hair who has a gray streak on his hair.” she says, leaning closer to her ball to see the vision clearer.
“okay that’s it,” luke pulled you up from your seat, “this,” hands gesturing over the whole setup, “is a fraud.”
“luke, don’t be rude—”
the woman let out a soft laugh, “it is not the first time that people walk out of here, upset about their future.” she comments, “you can believe whatever you want to believe. but i saw what i saw.”
fire could break out from the cave any minute from luke’s anger, he wanted to utter something back but it was the first time for him not be able to come up with a witty remark. the woman really got to his nerves.
all he could do was pull you out of the cave as soon as he can. so now, you’re both brisk walking out of the woods.
“luke… hold on.” you try to keep up with his pace but fail. his legs move too fast, and with the way he’s gripping your wrist, he’s practically dragging you down the path.
“a guy with gray streaks, huh?” he spits out, you just follow quietly behind him.
“should i get every man at camp lined up for inspection?” he mutters to himself. “yeah. yeah, i could definitely do that. find that guy, send him on a quest, and make sure the quest kills him.” all of a sudden, he sounds very committed to murder.
“baby.” the word comes out stiffer than you intended, but it’s enough to make him slow down.
“sorry,” he exhales sharply. “i just—” he struggles to form the thought. “i will fucking kill the guy.”
“luke,” you sigh.
“honestly, i might just kill everyone with a gray streak. what kind of hairstyle is that anyway? is he a skunk?” he rambles. “should i kill the skunks too? you’re not going to marry them, i’m sure, but just for safety measures—”
“luke castellan!”
that’s enough to make him stop plotting the extinction of multiple species. “stop trying to kill off every living organism.”
he sighs, running a hand through his hair. “sorry. i just—” he cuts himself off. his lips quiver, and you can’t tell if it’s from anger or something deeper. “the thought of losing you… i can’t…” he swallows hard. “i’ve lost everyone in my life. i can’t lose you too. you’re everything to me—”
“you’re not losing me, luke.” you cup his face gently. “i’m not going anywhere.”
“but the woman said—”
“i thought you never believed in that stuff?” you ask. “we went there and you were full of doubts. now you suddenly believe everything she said?”
he presses his tongue to the inside of his cheek. “i don’t know…” his voice drops, eyes avoiding yours. “maybe she’s right. maybe you find someone better than me. with gray streaks in his hair, apparently.”
“luke, who could possibly be better than you?” you tilt his face so he has to look at you. “you’re stupid if you think i’ll ever find someone better when you’re literally the best boyfriend ever.”
his eyes are still clouded with uncertainty. “what, should i just marry you now so you stop doubting the love i have for you?”
“baby, it’s not that i’m doubting your love—”
his eyes suddenly light up. “hold on. that’s actually a solid idea. should we get married tomorrow?”
you laugh. “baby, it was supposed to be a joke.”
“well, we could get married and prove that woman wrong,” he shrugs.
“we can do that soon. when our net worth doesn’t equal two drachmas,” you tease. “actually, zero drachmas now, since we wasted them on a terrible fortune telling.”
luke huffs out a laugh, remembering how painfully empty both your pockets are. “do you want me to sneak back into that cave and steal all her drachmas? the chest sounded pretty full.” he suggested which made you lightly slap his shoulder.
“what? it would make us rich. we could afford the wedding by then,” he defends.
“luke.” you give him that look—the one that says don’t you dare, not again, and you’re being ridiculous all at once. it’s intense enough to ground him, but gentle enough that he doesn’t feel like a disappointment.
he softens from your look, that look that makes him realize, he doesn’t need a fortune teller to tell him you’ll spend the rest of your lives together. every time he looks into your eyes, every time he feels your lips against his, he already knows—you’re the only person he wants beside him, forever and always.
but just to be safe… he’s still going to keep an eye out around camp for anyone with a suspicious gray streak in their hair. and maybe keep his sword a little sharper than usual.
i’ve always wondered what luke you prefer likeee bf!luke, ex!bf luke, bsf!luke 🥹 what’s ur fav girllll
oh my goodness bea i love this questioooooon i think... (please get the reference)
i try my best not to pick favourites but if you ask me to, i'd rank them—writing wise it would be; ex bf, bf, and bsf
PLEASE DON'T HATE ME! but i love writing for ex bf!luke so much cause he's so complex imo like while he's such an asshole and soooo arrogant, when push comes to shove, he chooses reader and he'll come kneeling down on his knees for any crumb of reader's attention or forgiveness. he's so pathetic and i've got like a very special place for pathetic men in my heart (there could only be so much)
bf!luke comes second cause he's just very sweet and horny. but i love their relationship soooo so much. they're so healthy and all, and i like to hope that my future bf acts that way cause if he doesn't, i might as well just kill the man /j
bsf!luke comes last (SHOCKER) actually i was a bit shook that people loved best friend luke so much :0 but i guess it's cause we all crave for that slowburn, friends to lover trope. the kind of love that means knowing you more doesn't lead to loving you less. i don't necessarily hate writing for best friend luke cause THATS MY MAAANS but i just hate how he can't seem to be straightforward with reader about his feelings and continues to sulk when she's being too oblivious (which is actually my fault cause i wrote them that way. so in conclusion i hate myself)
but if i were to rank them according to which one i want in my life, it would be; bf, bsf, ex bf.
like i won't even touch e bf!luke with a twenty foot pole he can keep his toxic ass (unless i want sum toxic sex maybe WHO SAID THAT) but yeah bf!luke wins my heart always ( ∩´͈ ᐜ `͈∩)
as usual, asking the bestest questions! love u more for this bea!!!
