Perfume to Appear on “Uchimara Olympic Declaration ~TOKYO 2020 Opening 1000 Days To Go Special~”
On October 28th, 1000 days before the Tokyo Olympic games, Perfume will be appearing on an NHK special “Uchimara Olympic Declaration ~TOKYO 2020 Opening 1000 Days To Go Special”!
The theme of the show is “what kind of person do you want to be in 1000 days?” To answer that, Perfume and Daito Manabe (Rhizomatics) have created a website entitled Perfume Lighting Project, where you can submit tweets to appear in the background while they perform their 2017 single, TOKYO GIRL.
To participate, head over to the website (hyperlinked in bold above, also found below in the links) and click on the button in the middle with the hashtag #nhk1000days. For your tweet to appear, you must agree to the terms of service, and answer the question of the show - “what kind of person do you want to be in 1000 days?” Your tweet will then appear on a heatmap of Japan - if you live outside of Japan or have location services off, it will appear in a random place in Tokyo.
The official news post ends by stating that Rhizomatics were involved in the handover ceremony at the Rio closing ceremony, which may or may not be hinting at Perfume’s involvement in the Olympics.
