What was Trump referring to when he talked about “what happened last night in Sweden”?
a) Vi som älskade varandra så mycket still haven’t released their new album b) Suis La Lune would rather tour Japan than Sweden (’cause there are no refugees in Japan) c) Heart On My Sleeve broke up but Trump found out just now

tigerscout - home less (2012)
24 seconds into the instrumental intro track ive always found myself extremely excited. this is how screamo is supposed to sound like. this is what two decades of music has built up to. maybe im being nostalgic but the sound of this album is as integral to the genre as bands like raein and funeral diner. its fast, spastic and hyper melodic.
We used to worship the sun Our pockets filled with sugar and sand Blistered and splintered hands We were innocent once We tried our hands at purity Never thinking we would fall short We lived between the moments And there beneath the trees We spoke to constellations In the hopes that we were worth saving Our prayers never made it past our ceilings

kellam - there will always be a problem (2013)
the good parts of la dispute and the good parts of the exploration. def a highlight of the twinkle era. the guitars are filled with hammer-ons and pull-offs and tapping, the drums are pleasingly complicated, the vocals are desperate, and the bass makes me feel like im at the bottom of the ocean. this is how this kind of music is supposed to sound.
Slowly splitting my brain, I am gone
Lifting the weight off my shoulders, I'm frowned upon
How can I explain it, I'm hardly around

into the ocean - ruins (2009)
amazing progressive electronicore (?). very varied and i cant recommend it enough. this was probably the album that convinced me that anything else than metal elitism was the way to go musicwise. sadly they didnt make much more music than this and this was definitely the best thing they did with this project. the "buy disc" link in the bandcamp page sadly doesnt work, i messaged one of the members of the band a long time ago and they probably dont have any merch (the shipping from australia would be too much regardless lol).
while i do enjoy the big albums of the genre like someday came suddenly and bury me in vegas, this has a way more serious and experimental feel that i vibe with way more. if they continued and got on a big label they wouldve gotten a lot of attention.
lets create the dust, lets give birth to sun. ill create the sky, watch the stars collide. ill give them eyes so they can see, ill give them mouths, ill give them needs

hypomanie - calm down. you weren't set on fire (2012)
instrumental post black metal/blackgaze that plays more like post rock than anything else. mixing is a bit strange at places but i dont mind. i used to be really into the final song on the album and im glad that hasnt changed. its also on spotify but sadly not in my country
Hypomanie - Calm Down, You Weren’t Set On Fire (2012) - YouTube
my cat d*ed where the sidewalk ends - demo (2012)
noisy screamo. theyre mostly just jamming but its enjoyable. a lot weirder than most of the bands in the genre would be willing to go. the final song is pretty of-the-times but all in all the 4 songs are varied (which is very fresh in this genre lol)
Welcome to cognition, malign and aroused. irrelevant descriptions, yet I adhere. An intercom for your cheyne-stokes, unmistakably perturbing. Is there a whisper of nostalgia from the horses mouth?
Demo | My Cat Died Where the Sidewalk Ends (bandcamp.com)
cityscape drawn in black ink - line 0 (2012)
very interesting dsbm. its very "pop-ish" in a similar way to lifelover but somehow even more easily digestible (which is a good thing in a genre based on being the opposite). its still unmistakably black metal though. the melodies are great, im relistening to it rn and i enjoy it just as much as i used to.

hit the pigeon boy! - it's a pretty dark place to leave a piece of light (2014)
twinkly (not in a bad way) (occasionally mathy) screamo from tel aviv, israel. i facebook-friend knew their drummer. at some point it reminds me of their contemporary Bonjour Machines but not so much as to not be their own thing. the saxophone is a great addition (as wind and more orchestral stringed instruments usually are).
Every time we speak to each other, trying to find ourselves in the words we say, we get lost. and every time we speak to our favourite person, try to find signs of affection in his face and his voice, we get lost. and then we sit and try to find our self in our souls and our hearts but we can't find it, we lost it trying to get better. and we have just one question to ask our self.
Boy, how fast can you run?

dark forces - surrounded and outnumbered (2009)
pretty varied screamo, i used to listen to this one a lot. very satisfying. possibly some metal influences, but not really if the sound? (except in some places?) if that makes sense
its still as enjoyable now as it was when i was 16 imo
All across the country gangsters go to sleep, lay down their heads turn over and start to weep if they can push through it then so can I, lace up my high tops one step at a time.

D'Wayne Gretzky's songs off their split w Lion House (2012)
ive never actually heard the other band.
great sort-of twinkly, posthc-ish screamo. def a grade above the rest but theyve got 6 listeners on lastfm in 10 years so they def deserve a listen. You're A Lizard Gary is one of the best songs of that whole era of screamo
So how is it that we stand so tall when we have learned nothing at all our mistakes have turned to earthquakes and before too long the road will be broken and gone
▶︎ Dad To The Bone Split w/ Lion House | D'Wayne Gretzky (bandcamp.com)
coconut fudge - self titled (2008)
alternative (grungy) with a lot of drive. was absolutely addicted to this way before i got into alternative for real. you owe yourself a listen, ffo Failure
Coconut Fudge | Coconut Fudge (bandcamp.com)
khoschei - mike is de*d (2013)
only ep of this band. very dark screamo, on the noisy side. less melodic than usual (the last song has some though). sounds great, had it on my ipod for a looong time. ffo the mock heroic but less mathy
▶︎ mike is dead | khoschei (bandcamp.com)
k*ll your children - self titled (2006)
idk how tumblr censorship works sooo
great fast screamo with lots of variation and a decent amount of melody. no song overstays their welcome, some even have short poggy breakdowns that turn me into boxxy rawr xd
when i found them i could find no info on them anywhere and no one had bought this/seemingly even known this existed. i would recommend it to a lot of people and i guess i recommended it to the right people bc some people have actually bought it! i think i read something more about this band in the old midnight werewolf "upcoming releases" or smth so i messaged the label years ago on fb and got ghosted hard lol at least two more songs exist because theyre on lastfm.
no way to make out the vox so im not posting any!

mr. willeford - demo (2013)
great screamo. a bit of the dreamy vibe (that was popular at the time) but not too much of the twinkly vibe (that was popular at the time but also very overused), only 10 listeners on lastfm??? tell your parents your teachers anyone jfc
i had this on my ipod for so long.
you're too close just stay inside where this makes sense if you could just turn- it's been close i'm thinking heavy, this makes sense if you could close your- eyes so tight you won't wake up. every minutes keep them shut. pounding waves sound better now, pounding waves sound better.
