I hope you are well, I am you’re gifter for the dndads gift exchange and had a quick clarification question about your request (which omg I am so excited to start working on 👏) are you looking for werewolf stuff specifically or like Sparrow can wild shape into a wolf like Henry? I had a couple ideas using some tropes for both ways but wanted to make sure I was working with the idea you wanted first. Have a good one!

Sign-ups are open!

I’ve officially opened sign-ups for a dndads gift exchange! Gifts will be fanart or fanfiction, any skill/experience level is welcome!

If you’re interested in participating, fill out this google form to sign up!

The form will be open for two weeks—closing April 6–so if you want to take part please fill it out before then. Everyone who fills it out will be included in the event, but if something comes up and you need to drop out later that’s fine.

If you want information on the exchange itself, check out the overview on my page, or send in an ask if there’s any questions you still have.

Please spread the word if you know anyone else who might be interested! There’s no rush and no pressure (though I do ask if you sign up you do your best to commit once assignments are sent out), just a little event for fun, to create and receive some dndads fan content!

I was thinking about starting a dndads gift exchange during April/May

Would anyone be interested in participating? It’d be akin to a secret-santa type thing—everyone taking part would both make something for and receive something from somebody else. (It would be similar to the dndads winter gift exchange done back in November/December, if you are familiar with that). Gifts would be fanart/fanfic/fan content in general

Remember when Sparrow snapped at the kids over releasing Willy and then excused himself with his trauma and how hard his situation was and that he was in the right? And Normal didn't feel like that solved anything, but in fact it made him want to never repeat that exact behaviour? Because even in Henry that pattern was a serious problem that he never actually managed to address? And it might have been a factor in why Normal doesn't feel comfortable with himself? And when he tries to be nice until he snaps and yells, that's him falling back on unhelpful old habits out of desperation?

I love that gerard's attempt to find elody failed. yes he (and rosamund) might as well just gone with the others from the get go and they achieved nothing by splitting up. but it still mattered. it mattered because gerard knew it would almost certainly be futile but he still TRIED. there was something important to him, and the route to it was difficult, and he chose to do it anyway. he didn't take the easy or even the sensible way out.

and so it's important that he failed, because if they managed to find elody, this wouldn't be the poignant character moment that it is. it would feel like gerard's gamble had paid off, that he was clever, that he was right. instead he fails, and what we get is a man (frog) who has grown to understand that some things are worth fighting for, even if in the end you don't succeed. even if you know from the start you won't succeed.

because I don't think gerard, for a single second, regrets trying to look for elody. but he had to fail, in order for him (and us) to see: no matter the outcome, no matter how difficult it is, no matter how much it's the wrong thing to do, he will always. ALWAYS. try to find his way back to elody. because some things, and some people, are worth trying for.
