Our last post

Our daughter started having health issues last year, after months of fundraising we paid for a surgery she needed to keep basic bodily functions but recently she started having pain and bleeding again, turns out the last doctors fucked up something and now she can't pee without pain and bleeding. Everyday for the past 2 or so months.

We need $3,200 to afford the surgery with a trans friendly urologist.

Both my partner and I are chronically ill with disabling chronic pain, we're unemployed and take care of our kids and his elderly parents with deteriorating chronic conditions and sister after they lost everything to a house fire, including his grandma.

We find temporary jigs sporadically but we mostly survive off of mutual aid online.

We've been living in a house full of black mold and rust, without water supply for the past 2 weeks**.

I just came back from another urgent care visit from my gallbladder/liver failure so I'd appreciate if we could move forward on getting my daughter the surgery she needs and maybe affording to pay the bills we have due on august 4th.

Edited the main post to add the last donations we've got in the past days, i am not feeling well, the stress of seeing my daughter suffering doesn't let me eat or rest. She still needs that surgery as soon as possible, the longer it takes us the more probable it is the price goes up.

It'll be my partner's bday on the 14th, he only wants us to make the goal as fast as possible.

truly one of the most demoralising things about being in the job market atm is "only successful applicants will be notified" is practically a universal standard. so you spend hours, sometimes days filling out applications, writing CVs and cover letters only to be ghosted as the only form of communication. Not even a "thank you but this time you've been unsuccessful" email. You're in a constant state of "did I not get it or have they not contacted me?" and you just have to eventually conclude you were unsuccessful without so much as courtesy, "sorry, but thank you for your application." A literal thankless cycle for months and months and months. You'd think with all the ways to automate these processes they would at least have the time, means and decency to acknowledge your submission and let you off the hook, but no. You're just in limbo in every possible way in the name of "efficiency". Solidarity with everyone going through this because it is truly dehumanising and demoralising to work so hard on putting yourself forward constantly without acknowledgement or useful communication of any sort for long periods of time, and most ppl simply will not have any compassion for what that's like.

many communists (esp on social media) end up sounding rousseauian with the way they talk about the "unnatural" or "corruptive" nature of capitalism, like somethint straight out of "discourse on the origin of inequality". this is a very bad failure of materialist analysis, you have to recognize

like, you do have to, at a certain point, start understanding history as a chain of material events caused by material conditions rather than some corruption of our inherent moral goodness ("given to us by god" left implied) - its not that capitalism is evil, its rather capitalism is a vital stage of production that leads to the development of technology and productive forces, however it becomes inefficient at a certain point after productive forces have outgrown capitalist social relations, and collective ownership of the means of production becomes more efficient
