Instead of reading himself into madness, Sephiroth runs into Vincent in Shinra Manor, and the two have some serious talks, Sephiroth hears about his real mom and it COMPLETELY CHANGES EVERYTHING and Seph goes to Genesis and Angeal, and is like "guys shit is crazy" and they are like "we know", and then Zack and Cloud join them and it just...ALTERS HISTORY.

All because Vincent and Sephiroth end up interacting.
