“It was a scorned husband. Hated any men that slept in that room,” Lan Wangji filled in. Wei Wuxian might even say he was reminiscent. That was nice. 

He opened the men’s bathroom door with his foot, pushing it in and peering inside. There was nothing too notable there either. How boring that this ghost wasn’t trying to run them out.

“And to think! We gave him two.”

“Not originally,” Lan Wangji said. 

“Ah?”

Wei Wuxian furrowed his eyebrows as he looked over at him. He tried to think over that time and all he could remember is them sharing a bed, staring at each other and waiting. There were other disciples they were hunting with considering it was practically a school assignment, but they’d offered to be bait.

“I was meant to stay there alone. You showed up after dusk,” Lan Wangji said. Wei Wuxian tilted his head more, urging him to go on. He couldn’t remember the details Lan Wangji did; he wanted to. Lan Wangji stood a little straighter. “You insisted I let you in and you took over my bed.”

“Sounds like me.”

“Mn.”

“And then what happened, Lan Zhan? Did I do something embarrassing? Did I say something utterly shameless?” he asked, grinning as he turned to face him completely. Lan Wangji’s face softened just a bit.

“You said you were my zhiji,” Lan Wangji said, “And that we fight together. Not separately.”

Wei Wuxian felt a smile find his face, his eyes squinting. He didn’t remember that specific situation, but that definitely sounded like him. There had been a time where he couldn’t get enough of calling him his zhiji, couldn’t get enough of the way his ears turned red each and every time he did it just to tease. 

“Well, I can’t say I was wrong. I mean, look at us! Absolutely meant to fight together, just like right now. Honestly, Lan Zhan, I don’t know how you went so long without‒”

“Wei Ying.”

“Huh?”

Before he could register anything, Lan Wangji grabbed his arm and pulled him out of the bathroom while he unsheathed Bichen with his other hand.
