The Wes in his natural habitat. For posterity, his original icon has been included.
"I have 8 points, and the W in TWIN." He folded his arms, before: "That idea sounds fine to me, I guess." He grabbed Abel's bracelet, looked at it, and then announced: "Since he's not talking, Abel's got 8 points, and his letter is L, from HELIX."
Wes folded his arms, petulantly pretending nothing was wrong. His scarf's positioning conveniently hid anything that might establish him as sad, beyond his downcast expression. He almost seemed to be trying to force himself not to listen.
The name got a reaction out of Wes - he froze, before looking crestfallen. He adjusted his scarf so that it barely avoided covering his eyes. "Yeah. He was Abel's friend, not mine. Abel'd probably want to know more than I would." He was lying through his teeth. It wasn't that he wasn't friends with Jayden - he'd shoved a man down some stairs over the guy, after all... It was that he'd rather not hear about how the other died. Wes swallowed nervously, before adamantly staring at the ground.
"Do you think we could actually use them to vote? Or are they only good for door entry...?" Wes asked, still seemingly disturbed by the news from before - but not letting it shut him down.
Things I Do With Phones
There were many things Wesley could have done when he noticed his boyfriend was looking at him with eyes that suggested he recognized him. There were many things.
Unfortunately, Wesley was much too dedicated to avoiding emotional outbursts to permit for any option but one: he froze, and then suddenly bolted. Lance would most likely be thrown in his direction before - with a loud tearing sound - Wes's hood came completely off, and he bolted to a door and left, not paying any mind to his destination. Anyone who tried to stop him would get an elbow to the chest - even if it was a lady or otherwise.
He needed out of this situation. He knew what would happen if he stayed in that room, and let Abel look at him with that face. Not things he approved of, that was for sure. Like crying.
The tugging and pulling was annoying, sure, and Wes was impotently getting annoyed with each new tug. He was, of course, complaining. It was his way. All of his complaints stopped when suddenly his hood was pulled down, and his hair - a messy mop of ginger - rested cleanly on his head. He was close to socking the other; even if he had his scarf on, it was more then enough exposure for anyone who knew him (like, for example, Abel) to recognize him. His eyebrows narrowed, before - "Wh- Hey!" Thus began the attempts of Wesley to get Lance to stop holding onto his hood, so he could pull it back up.
"Don't wanna go with those people. We're doing my plan, right? If you guys are big on going with other people, we could just wait for people to complete puzzle rooms one at a time." He folded his arms. "We don't have to make a set of 3 pairs, unless you're all dead set on not entering two or three rooms sequentially." ...Sophia's question got him to look at the floor. "Uh... not... really?" To be very honest, he'd have liked to go with Abel. But he wasn't going to voice that.
Over the course of recent discussion Red had decided to just sit back and watch what was going on - until Sophia's new plan was spoken up with. Lauren's own question to Abel seemingly got him tucking up his scarf before he brought attention to himself. "No thanks. Not interested in that plan, pick another." Someone was being uncompromising.
Red started slightly at suddenly having Lauren approach. "Alright-" He was suddenly being patted down! He backed up, "Don't get all touchy feely, here." He tugged the key out of a pocket, before very deliberately heading off to go and unlock the gate. Excuse you Lauren, he can do it HIMSELF.
Red just raised his bracelet so it was facing out, before: "I've got the L in evil. Color's red." He blinked: "So there's G-O-O-D, *, and E-V-I-L for letters. What can we make groups for the doors out of, with that?"
"That's what I meant, yeah. If I'm wrong about how it works, then we've only wasted a little bit of time. If I'm right, then it'll get us 27 points in upping instead of 9. Normally, 27 points would only be enough to get half of us out. We all need 6 points at the start, and if we keep voting the way we are, we'll get to the third set of rooms and run out of upvotes. If we can get 27 points from this round and 27 points from the next, we can all escape." He points out, before readjusting his arms. "In other words. If we don't try this, we're probably fucked at first base anyway."
Red chose to speak up at the chat about upvoting: "Was wondering something. What'd happen if we went into our rooms one group at a time? Since it's a room vote everyone participates in. Couldn't we get three chances to vote through that way?" He folded his arms, "And if it doesn't work, we're not on a time limit or some shit. We just wasted a bit of time."
Red, as Lauren had termed him, didn't seem to have a change in personality. His expression was as unrevealing as ever, and the only obvious sign he was smiling was how his eyebrows weren't knit. Still, he noted quickly that they were apparently the first to get out. The two man team got first in the race, he noted. Oh, the irony.
Wes almost harrumphed at the nickname, but declined to comment on it. "Yeah. C'mon." Wasn't like there was anything better to do. Although, to be honest, he wouldn't have objected to her leading him; despite his outbursts, he wasn't quite that prickly. Still, he headed towards the door, assuming that Lauren was going to follow.
"Works well enough." He noted, before crossing his arms. "I'll go with Lauren through the LIE door." He had no grudge against her, nor any reason to shoot her down. Besides, he had to assume she was at least half-competent. He doubted there'd be any issue.
Florence's want to go with him was not missed, but he was damn well fine with pretending he hadn't heard it all the same.
