hey there! I've always admired the way you do the construction of lines in art, makes the piece look rather dynamic and solid. I was wondering, what kind of brush or technique do you use to achieve those solid lines? Sorry for the dumb question, hope you have a nice day

generally the way i draw has been described as subtractive lineart, especially with something as complex as the prototype's legs. i block in the shapes and then erase to create the lines/details. it helps create an organic look to my art that i am chronically unable to achieve with traditional lineart lmao (trust me, i spent like 8 years trying)

doing it this way helps me balance my focus with the shape and silhouette rather than worrying with the detail too soon. from where i left the sketch, i can go in again to refine it a little and make it less blocky and scratchy as i add in the more mechanical details that you can see in a piece like this — which some are actually created with highlights/shadows as opposed to the sketch lines
it's also a very freeing technique because it forces you to not worry about imperfections, especially with a rectangle brush (and watching it back is like OMG ERASE THE PIXEL YOU MISSED! FIX THE CROOKED LINE! but it really comes together in the end and isn't particularly important in a full piece lol), which isn't to say this is the Only way i make my lines. there are plenty i rawdog cleanly that you can see in for example this sketch, but they blend in because i maintain the chunky nature from my subtractive lines, especially as i don't stick to just one brush size the whole way through
all in all, its years spent being a sketcher than a liner and adjusting my style to match :)

I've created a side blog just to ask this because I feel too stupid... but in your AMAZING piece where Prototype is tied up, what is reader/player doing to him? 😭 It's a play, but I don't get it? Did she just leave? I was so caught up in his whimpers and pleads I didn't even see he's just laying there, leaking and untouched. It's hot but please explain to me like I'm 5

Reader/player is still there but she’s watching him squirm as she messes with the settings of the makeshift toy she put on him. She does end up helping him along though after a bit.
You’re basically looking at him through her pov.
