Peek through the glass door, try not to be seen though

You look through the glass door, trying your hardest not to be seen. You weren’t aware you’d be looking through doors to hide from monsters a lot, but this seems to be happening.

You see a weird gray blob with a mess of tangled hair chatting with a sentient pill bottle with arms and legs. The pill bottle reminds you of one of those terrible Flash animations you made once or twice on your dad’s computer, and then never touched again. You can’t hear what they’re saying right now.

No ideas for what to do next immediately come to mind, so you walk out back into the hallway.

Outside, you notice a few things.

The craft-paper bandages on your head have disappeared. As soon as you reach to touch them, they seem to reappear again. Seems the bandages only appear (or are visible to you) when something comes in contact with them.

The sound of a heart monitor and muffled talking comes from Room 4, the sound of coughing comes from Room 3, the sound of coins clinking comes from room 6o, and nothing comes from room phive.

The door in the back has a plus engraved on its lock.

Looking at the door to Room 4 is giving you a pounding headache.

The awful hospital fandom is really interesting. There's only 8 fanfics on ao3 yet there's at least 4 fancomics on this site alone.

Fanfiction, in addition to being almost certainly easier to do than a full on comic is of course much more popular in the vast majority of internet fandom space in general, making this quite the outlier- and that's not even getting into how, while the majority of fandom (and indeed all the ao3 fanfics) generally seems to focus on playing with canon characters and all- digging into their personalities, seeing how they'd react in different situations, positing relationships between them- every single fan*comic* on here is exclusively OC-focused- generally the only real connection is the basic format.

Really is strange how that ended up working out- a fandom where there's a full half as many format-clones of the comic as there are fanfics.

...Wonder if it's just a feature of the whole sort of "quest" genre of the comic- naturally lends itself to replication far easier than like, cartoons or live action television (and of course a format replication of literature fandom is just fanfic, so..)

funny thing, i wrote appalling mall with the intent to include canon characters in it ( as much more minor characters, but not to the extent that they're just cameos). you'll see them more often after the player character leaves the clinic.

Let's take a listen to what's behind door number 2...

You hesitantly walk between the doorframe room #2, unsure whether or not you should just book it out the glass door. Your parents, friends, everybody who knew you would know that you were gone, but... you still don't remember the specifics of how you got here.

Anyways, you walk inside...

You're startled by the fact there seems to be an ENTIRE HUMAN SKELETON inside this room, but then a small, squeaky voice emanates from the entity.

Balloon-skeleton thing: GOSH! FINALLY! IT'S BEEN FOREVER SINCE A DOCTOR EVEN SPOKE TO ME! SO, YA GONNA DISCHARGE ME OR- wait... are you supposed to have that many eyes?

At first you're not sure whether or not to leave the room. You do have a concussion after all, and the doctor said to rest for the time being (although you don't know how long half a cycle is).

But then you remember how incompetent Dr. Rescription seemed (or maybe it was just a language barrier), and how you're stuck in a shopping mall with inhuman monsters- which are currently trying to treat your head injury.

Speaking of which, how did you get here? The last thing you remember was that you were heading to a new mall that was opening...

Anyways, you decide to head outside.

There are five other doors, which you assume to be leading to different rooms. The blue door in the back is locked. There's a glass door in front of you that seems to lead out.

What do you do?
