I'm Peal, the bell Vessel! er..at least, that's what Seamstress calls me... spins around in a circle

[a light jingling noise is heard as a small decorated Vessel trots along on a walk. on their way it spots a strange device, interest immediately piqued. (I've never seen anything like that before, maybe a pilgrim passing through the Far Fields dropped it in their haste to get out of here?)

they slowly approach the gizmo, picking it up and pressing one of the buttons on it's side. a near blinding light illuminates it's mask, and they flinch back slightly, not expecting something so bright. they activate it again (more cautiously, this time..) and begin exploring.

(huh. Tumblr? let's see what's on here..)

the rest of their return trip to the Seamstress' Hut is spent enthralled in this device—a Phone, it discovered—inattentive and unaware of it's surroundings. it's lucky they know their way around the Far Fields, otherwise they'd be thoroughly charred by the time it got home.]

[They freeze, staring.. their paw still in the air, positioned as it was when they tapped the bell.]

[It takes them a moment, but they suddenly jolt, tripping on their tail as they scramble back, their gaze still stuck on the.. face?]

"w..wuh..." [They whimper, shakily.]

*The thing, realizing that it was spotted, leaps, the stone, which was just a trapdoor, moving out of the way as it’s head comes down, aiming for Peal it’s prey*

[They let out a high, wordless yelp as the... thing aims for them, immediately choosing flight over fight as they opt to try and dart as far from it as they can manage..]

*It lets out a growl of displeasure, although it makes no move to get closer. One lost prey is fine, right?*

[The growl just serves to frighten them more, quickening their scramble off and away from the bell and it's.. companion.

Needless to say, they're never coming back to these steps.]

[Their body tenses and their tail stills as they stare back at through the water. The lamp-pin in their paw flickers shortly after and they turn to look at their lumafly instead of the water, pulled out of whatever staring contest they were in, seemingly against their own reflection and nothing else. Mildly startled, they back up, step by step, before turning tail and leaving the water? behind.]

[Sits down like a toddler waiting to be told à story and listens to the jingles.]

[They sit as well, lightly shaking their head back and forth to jingle the bells.]

*A little flea with a red ribbon collar approaches, letting out a happy “awoo” when they reach the vessel.*

“Woahh, we both got red ribbons! And bells! We match!”

*Chime then flies around the vessel happily, doing a sort of joyful little dance.*

"woa!! heh he, hiye little fluffy! you jingle too!"

[Peal follows Chime's circling, leading with their head as they continue to talk.]

"I like your ribbon! it's like mine but it's different cause mine are short and I have two!"

Yaay, red ribbon and bell buddies! And I like that yours are shorter and there’s more of them, they look super cool!

*Chime continues to zip around happily, the bell on their collar jingling.*
