reasons for my favorite dramas being my favs
soredemo ikite yuku
for me personally it's the was they portrayed main two charectes, hiroki and futaba and their relationship. the dialogues were beautifully written and I REALLY loved how Sakamoto yuiji made us feel so many different characters pain at the same time. I saw someone describing this drama as narural, so natural that it didn't even feel like they were acting and I couldn't agree more. It has left me feeling very heavyhearted even though the message behind it is positive which is “hope” and “life goes on”. I still think about this drama from time to time and the impact it had on me.
3 nen a gumi
don’t have much to say about this drama. I just loved the message. in this world of social media, please think before you post something and don't hurt anyone with your malicious comments. it’s just a bit personal to me as this was one of my early jdramas and i fell in love with suda masaki with this one.
kono sekai no katasumi ni
where do I begin with this. to name a few the calmness in the chaos, suzu and her husbands innocent romance, the cinematic scenery, real problems. if I had to describe it with one word it would be BEAUTIFUL. dramas set in rural japan always draw me in , so this was an immediate yes for me. tori and honoka had amazing chemistry. this drama was WARM. I deliberately use to put off watching episodes because I didn't want to complete it. attachment issues. this drama screams slice of life and jdramas do the sol genre really well. again, this show was painfully beautiful. the characters really hit right on the spot. Suzu still remains one of my favourite characters ever. her everlasting love, the warmth radiates, I love her <3
brush up life
again it's the personal experience and only because it was me that I enjoyed this drama so much. I had taken a huge break from drama watching and was having a hard time coming back and this drama saved me from my slump. every jdrama enjoyer should watch this. At first this was a bit repetitive but I still enjoyed it. the beautiful depiction of friendship, women friendship is my most favorite thing ever. despite this being about time leap and fantasy it was still very REAL and human. ando sakura is a queen, and she never misses. all this and the main reason why i loved this so much were the throwbacks to our favorite jdramas and jpop songs. as an avid jdrama fan it was so nice to see yourself being represented.
konto ga hajimaru
painfully relatable drama about youth and navigating life, having to make the right decisions at the right time but don't know how to make those decisions. nothing ever going your way. young adults would definitely find the struggles in this show relatable. friendships and careers, it was everything life. the cast had great chemistry and are so lovable. this was much more than a show to me, it was like a journal written specifically for me to understand, it’s ok, everyone have different hurdles, as long as you believe in yourself, you’ll be fine. plus when I watched this I was really having a crisis with my career path, so I felt seen and so this show really spoke to me.
99.9 keiji
mystery with comedy, buddy drama, genius lawyer, puns, friendship, matsujun, nothing could ever go wrong with this set. So much fun!!!
unnatural
the characters were the best part, everyone had their part, everyone had depth to their characters and were complex. satomi was just amazing. i loved the profession in this, coroner. i appreciated them working hard so much. as a med student i understand that kind of pain. i love shows with amazing characterisation and this was one of it. every character had a story to tell and none of their stories were lacking.
kazoku dakara
working hard for your family. family means a lot to me and ofc this dorama shows us what it’s like to stick up to your family no matter what. this one hit home from episode one.
kanojotachi no jidai
complex , real characters. everyone was flawed but that’s what made them real. i loved it a lot, i don’t what it was but i literally binged watched this. the nostalgic feel bc it’s from the 90s, upped the experience for me. ofc female friendships is something i looked for in every dorama<3
IWGP
this show was purely for the vibes , the nostalgia, the jerks, the yankees , the jokes, the friendships, to see the actors that we love in the 2000s. early 2000s doramas just hit different
beach boys
i could go on and on about this show. my no1 dorama. i too wanna leave this world behind and work at an inn at the beach ,, so so so much fun, so many stories to tell, so much friendship, so much love, so much warmth. nothing beats a 90s-00s dramas
ending note;
as you can see I really like friendships and slice of life so yeah. plus bias towards my favourite actors like hikari, suda, ando sakura, tori, honoka, eita.
