“I meant no disrespect, my lady.” Aurelia politely bowed her head. She watched Leonette assess the dress, pride swelling inside her chest when the lady approved of it. She rarely doubted her ability in dressing her lady to look presentable, Aurelia made sure the shades she chose matched Leonette and the occasion, she presumed the Lannisters would like to see some shade of red.
It was all about blending in, after all.
After dressing her came the hair, which was Aurelia’s favorite challenge. She worked on giving Leonette delicate and intricate hairdo. “Well…” she began, as she gently twisted lock of coppery hair in her hands. “I presume I’ll spend time in the library, and see to what ladies of King’s Landing dress in and how they have their hair.” She continued, all the while she had not met her lady’s eyes in the mirror, her expression was set to guarded concentration.
“I heard the skulls of the Targaryen dragons are somewhere beneath the castle, I’ve entertained the thought of searching for them.” She admitted, as she always wanted to see them, ever since she was a young girl. Her mother would always tell her tales of the dragons and the Targaryens, every night even when she was not a little girl anymore.
A wisp of a smile appeared on her lips.
“What will you do when you do not have to attend to your Lady matters?”
Aiming to catch her handmaidens eyes in the mirror before her, she gave the girl a quick smile before glancing back down at her dress, hands fiddling with the skirt as she awaited her hair to be done. “ The library sounds like an excellent idea, I will likely visit it as well, that is if I can escape Margaery and her other ladies for a few moments peace, ” she let out a light chuckle at that, she could not imagine any of them wanting to spend their whole day in the library.
She gave a nod at this, herself never having really entertained the thought of finding the dragons. She had read of them and of course they had interested her, they were dragons after all, yet aiming to find their skulls seemed, well, a little daunting. Some of them were massive, as large as a coach and she did not fancy finding herself stood before one.
“ Just make sure you do not end up getting lost on your way to find them, ” As who knew how many hidden passage ways and dead ends there were down beneath the castle.
As to what she would be doing when not attending matters, “ It is not quite as exciting as going off to find dragon skulls, I will likely read, in my rooms mostly but if the weather is nice then in the gardens. And visit Garlan of course, mayhaps we shall walk in the gardens together, ” Her activities may not seem interesting to most, yet she would rather spend her time reading in peace than at some loud and noisy ball or the like.
Giving her skirt a quick brush down, Leonette rose to her feet, giving her handmaiden another quick smile, “ Now then, how long before I shall have to go dine with Margaery? ”
