Pencil sketch to digital! Doing this piece really helped me to escape my art burnout. I was just thinking about how Fakir struggled against Drosselmeyer and himself to write a happy ending for the story. I imagine after the ending of the show how he struggled with writing a story where Duck would be human again. Grappling with questions like: “Will she be the same Duck as before?” “Would this be what she wants?” “Would I influence her choices too much or take away her agency through the story I write?” I wanted to capture his internal conflict, his fear to put pen to paper, knowing the weight behind the words he writes. And that gave me the inspiration I needed to put MY pencil to the paper and create something. :)
