It's hard to explain, but while rewatching "Solaris", I had an idea about how, after Spock's death, Kirk ends up on a station on the planet Solaris. Since the ocean on the planet is a sentient being, mirroring the consciousness of people and sending "guests" in the form of acquaintances from the past who can only live near the planet (and are also immortal near the planet), Kirk gets Spock back. And slowly goes mad from despair.
